Sam and Sam series by Chloe Garner (#1-6)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 2.8 MB
Overview: Chloe Garner acts as the conduit between her dreaming self and the paper (or keyboard, since we live in the future). She writes paranormal, sci-fi, fantasy, and whatever else goes bump in the night. When she’s not writing she steeplechases miniature horses and participates in ice cream eating contests. Not really, but she does tend to make things up for a living.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
1. Rangers
Sam and Jason have been at this a long time, and they’re some of the best out there. Gremlins, goblins, ghosts of all kind, vampires, even the yeti that time in Cleveland, they go where they’re needed and they kill what needs killed. It’s that simple. And it’s a pretty good life, really.
Then there’s the girl. Samantha. She’s feisty and difficult and she knows next to nothing about what they do, but she’s pretty handy with a hatchet and seems to just keep tagging along with them, city after city, witch after ghost after spirit, despite Jason’s best efforts to ditch her along the way. If he’d had any idea just how complicated she was about to make their lives, he probably would have left her in Georgia.
It’s too bad, really. Sam appears to be in love with her.
2. Shaman
It gets worse before it gets better.
Sam left her. It wasn’t really Jason’s decision, so he went along with it at the time, but he’s regretted it ever since. Now they have to deal with the consequences. Samantha is back, but nothing is the same and it looks like it may never be, again.
Carly, Sam’s demonic ex-girlfriend, has put him under a spell that’s likely to kill both Sam and Samantha, if they aren’t careful. If they do manage to survive, they still have Carly’s self-absorbed boss to deal with, plus a horde of zombies that Samantha says aren’t zombies at all. Samantha may be a shaman with a knack for knowing the right things at the right times, but even she may not be able to get them out of this unscathed.
3. Psychic
In-over-their-heads was a ways back, now. Demon hunting trio Sam, Jason, and Samantha are on the run, trying to find a way to keep both Jason and Sam away from the whiny demon who is hellbent on possessing Sam. Samantha doesn’t seem much like herself, though, and complicated is too hopelessly simple a way of describing her ever-changing relationship with Sam. They may not have known what they were signing up for, when they started to dabble in Samantha’s world, but they’re going to have to learn fast. The stakes are high, and they’re only getting higher.
4. Warrior
An angry, manipulative demon is still after Jason, Samantha is a bit unhinged after Sam’s girlfriend didn’t make it out of the last mission, and someone calling herself Tabitha just introduced herself to Sam – out of Samantha’s mouth. They’re losing their grip on the situation, and things are quickly unraveling. It’s looking like they may lose the life they’ve built for themselves, and that’s before Jason disappears. When Sam and Samantha finally come to terms with everything that’s happened, they’re going to discover they’re capable of things they’d never imagined. More importantly, the demonic world is going to have hell to pay.
5. Dragonsword
This should have been the time for putting their lives back together, but – really – who expects that? One naïve angel, one psychic vision, one slap from Kara, and they’re back on the road again. Sam, Samantha, and Jason have got things to do, demons to ash, abominations to kill, and miles and miles of highway to cover.
6. Child
The instructions were very specific. They just weren’t very helpful. Save Ashley.
Samantha is now Samantha Elliott, and as she and Sam begin working out what their lives are going to look like, as a married couple, Jason is going to have to come to grips with what his life is going to look like, without Sam. So they go back to their roots, finding problems, killing monsters, ashing demons. It’s what they do best, but Samantha has still got to figure out who Ashley is and how to save her. Heavenly mandates are hardly ever unimportant.
