Saga of the Six Realms Series (1-2) by Jason Beveridge

Overview: My creative journey began designing a fantasy board game, titled the Middle Kingdom of Mu. In quiet moments, often travelling overseas on business, I had fun writing the lore and exploring different realms. Why a board game? Back then, I thought digital games would deprive our two sons of social interaction and limit their development. How the world has changed since.

#1 – Emperor of Mu
On the eve of war, Emperor Constantine discovers a hidden foe; one that for centuries has manipulated human affairs from behind the scenes. In secrecy, he dispatches a sealed letter to the Sorceress of The Powers, but the news arrives too late. Constantine is mysteriously murdered, and Mu is thrown into turmoil as the rulers of the six realms must decide who among them is to become the next emperor.

As Mu grapples with electing a successor, the outland races stir. To the east, the truce with the Woodelven is threatened as those with forbidden interracial blood are exterminated. In the far north, rumours spread of the dragons returning, while in the western desert lands, the fearless Imanishi defend the empire from the night demons. South of Mu, the untrusted Illanthean sea invaders, consolidate their rule.

This is a saga of rivalry, romance, and battles between race and kind alike that keeps you guessing with its twists and turns. Set in the wondrous medieval world of Mu, where the powers of the mind and mind-magic set apart the extraordinary, this series explores new frontiers.

#2 – Moontar Menace
The jubilation of Empress Markeesha’s coronation was short lived when Senatas, the Woodelven Caretaker announced giant black knights were invading the realms of Muaryia and Verderan.

As foretold by the Woodelven Oracle, Markeesha expected war was imminent. Seizing the moment, she turned her coronation into a War Council. After an exchange of self-congratulatory hubris, the visiting rulers and their delegations returned home to prepare for the ensuing war.

What Empress Markeesha didn’t expect was the materialisation in her pocket of a key; a key bequeathed to her in utmost secrecy by her husband, the late Emperor Constantine. That it should magically turn up as she was crowned Empress, and found herself at war with an unknown enemy, put her in a quandary. What secrets did the key promise to unlock, and why now? Did Constantine foresee this? She wondered.
