Those plans however are suddenly and sadly dashed when Eleanor receives a call from one of her students Emily Winston. One of Eleanor’s other students, James "Jimmy" Arthur Maxwell III, has been found dead and Police Chief Willis has tagged Emily as a prime suspect. Now she needs Eleanor’s help in clearing her name before it’s too late. Eleanor agrees and Maddie lends her sleuthing expertise to assist her old friend.

6. Danger Next Door
It’s another ordinary morning at Madeline McDougal’s small town bakery. Except Madeline’s Persian cat Astoria seems to be very wound up this AM for some reason. Astoria’s anxieties seem to be focused solely on Mr. Joe owner of the coffee shop next door. Never one to ignore a hunch Madeline with Astoria in tow decide to pay a visit to Mr. Joe. Only to find him sprawled out on his office floor gasping for air. Seems he was recently attacked by someone. But whom? Why? After Mr. Joe is taken to the hospital Madeline and her Sidekick Granddaughter Bailey put their heads together to try and uncover the guilty party.
7. Maddie’s Thanksgiving Mystery
Madeline and her Granddaughter Bailey decide to visit the former’s sister-in-law Carol for the Thanksgiving holiday. A tradition Madeline has continued to honor despite her brothers passing years ago. The trio plan to sit down for dinner with a neighbor named Mina, who is expected to join them. Dinner times comes, and the trio becomes anxious as Mina never calls or shows. They send Bailey over to check on her and the news isn’t good. Mina is dead!
Madeline’s puts her sleuthing expertise to use and is determined to find out who killed Mina. Yet with no real enemies to start looking at, Madeline will unfortunately have to begin her search treating everyone in the town as suspects. This might be one of Madeline’s toughest cases yet!
