Overview: At its end, the reader is left with a “What happened?” as the police chief of Osage Beach, Missouri seeks to investigate an unsolved murder that took place two months earlier on Languid Lake Road, the only roadway leading to Osage Beach.
The sequel deal with those unanswered questions as the investigation continues in a series of twists and turns involving the three couples who previous had a reunion near Osage Beach. The police chief, the criminal attorneys and the police department in Osage Beach are all party to the ongoing investigation which ultimately reaches a satisfactory conclusion.
Trust becomes a recurring themes as each of the three couples are caught up with personal issues that challenge their respective relationships. The murder investigation and the understanding each couple has of the issues impacting the investigation complicates their friendship and highlights their personal problems. Readers must decide whether or not the relationships are salvaged, determine if the parties remain committed to their friendship and if what has been lost an be regained.
