It turns out Toma’s brother is missing, someone out there is powerful enough to make an entire nest of vampires disappear—oh, and Toma’s family are a bunch of assholes. With all the political bull and the thinly veiled threats against Esper’s kind, it’s almost a relief to leave Toma’s family behind. Too bad the only help she has cleaning up the sorcerers’ mess is one small medium, one overly-emotional vampire, one busty werewolf, and one guy who doesn’t even have a body of his own.
Oh, and then there’s the weird familiar with boundary issues.
Just another day in the life of the world’s most awkward necromancer.
5. Witchromance – All reluctant necromancer Esper Jones wanted was to return home and plot out a way to rescue her long-lost father from the clutches of a madman. Simple, right?
But there are strange wolves in town, set on taking Luna back to their pack. And a whole bunch of trouble just rolled in, in the form of a group of renegade vamps trailing a bunch of angry vampire hunters. Oh, and there is the little matter of the permanent body Esper promised to help find for her skinwalker….
And that’s not to mention all the sickening romantic drama and figuring out what she should do with her questionable ex-best friend.
Anti-social Esper might have to do something worse than learn to rely on her own dark power—she might be forced to join forces with the unlikely supernatural allies around her, including one scary old witch who happens to be in all the right places at all the wrong times.
6. Soulromance – With everyone home safe, Esper can finally focus on finding a permanent body for Awan. But can she trust herself enough to use her powers for good—and can she tie the skinwalker to her forever? Cue magic lessons from one crazy old aunt, and a few animal test subjects.
But on the cusp of success, the town faces a threat that will put Esper’s murder to the test, and bring them face to face with the supernatural council.
