Python For Visual Basic Programmers: Book 3 by Richard Edwards
Requirements: .PDF reader, 2.67 MB
Overview: If you have been following along since book 1, you know that each book has provided you with tons of examples on how to convert what you know as a Visual Basic programmer into something that works using Python.
This book continues with that concept.
Normally, in Visual Basic, you could import Microsoft.Win32 and work with what I consider the best and easiest ways to work with the registry. But this is Python and like VB6 or any other language that must use COM to work with objects, we basically have to work with what is available using COM.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t be creative when we do, right?
Also, if you have never worked with the registry, not to worry, we’re going to take it one step at a time.
And then, we’re going to stop. Not because I don’t want you to know everything there is to know about the registry, but I could do an entire book on just the registry alone – and perhaps, someday I should – but we have so many cool things to cover, I just don’t have room in this book to detail all of these various places in the registry that you might find interesting.
