Overview: Dan Hardesty is a retired Navy SEAL, with saltwater in his veins. For the last several years, he’s been content to study sharks along the Pacific coast, and with the advent of small, remote-controlled drones, he’s expanded his studies by observations from the air.
As Dan launches his drone one morning to observe reef sharks, his attention is distracted when he spots a boat anchored nearby, in an area not known for fishing. Out of curiosity, he directs the drone closer, and that’s when he witnesses something nobody was supposed to see. That would have been enough to send him to local authorities, but before he can retrieve the drone, it is shot out of the air with a scoped rifle. Then shots are fired at him.
Soon, Dan is thrust into a new war, this time in his own back yard, where assassination, conspiracy and corruption appear to be the norm.
