1. Castle & Conceit
In the world of magic oceans, the vain and cruel prince, Octavian, seeks praise while his scheming advisor, Cassius, designs castles to conquer nations and grow his own wealth. Powers from beyond have their own plans and reveal secrets to mortals that will later prove ruinous. Out at sea, the pirate, Captain Keallach, commits brutal murders in his search for treasure. A girl named Taesa, having immense musical power, enchants all with her songs, in ways no one yet realizes. The ancient-yet-young Chronicler named Judith records the unfolding events. While in the throne room of the tyrannical Octavian, Judith learns plans of what danger is to come and wants to warn those in the path of destruction. However, the Chronicler’s Oath that she took forbids interference, so she must keep some secrets in confidence for ages to come.

2. Inferno & Intrigue
In the world of magic oceans, the many suns have aligned to create a deadly heat wave that causes a burning sickness. The architect, Fantine, develops crystal barriers to protect against the peril. However, a flaw in the materials limits their use, leading her on a voyage to discover arcane knowledge and design a solution. The music scholar, Taesa, sings an uplifting song that heals many children of the infernal illness. Her voice is as enchanting as it is effective and gains the attention of dangerous people. The pirate, Captain Keallach, sells his very soul, bit by bit, to find the greatest sunken treasure of all. He confronts an imperial navy — and a mysterious woman with violet eyes — who lay claim to their share of the wealth. A clever freighter captain outmaneuvers the buccaneer, but then risks his life — and his soul — in a game of strategy against an even more dangerous adversary. Powers from beyond scheme against the world, and against each other, moving their pieces on a larger board. The Chronicler, Judith, witnesses the horrors and begins to falter under the emotional weight of having seen too many centuries of tragedy.

3. Dagger & Deception
In the world of magic oceans, nations are warned of a great danger posed by a queen named Victoria. She is the descendant of an ancient empire known for its horrific cruelty and now possesses a tiara that can control the thirteen oceans to bring deadly storms. The many suns are still aligned, so the inferno continues to burn, preventing the mysterious artifact from unleashing destruction. Despite this, no one can find the woman to kill her in her time of weakness, because of a web of deception woven by the empire’s ancient matriarch. Under the cover of swamps and forests, a blood-craving witch wields a cursed ruby dagger, using it to make others undead. She gradually raises her own army, intending to capture the tiara for her master. A rumor circulates suggesting that Victoria is hiding on an island in the darkest of oceans. In fact, a powerful illusionist lives there, murdering the wealthy and stealing their riches. When mercenaries and armies of empires arrive on the island in search of Victoria, a warlord tricks all sides into battle and declares his intention to rule everyone. The challenge then rises to an epic level when Taesa sings enchanting songs to discover hidden truths and ends up unleashing a fiery horror upon the world. The Chronicler, Judith, records many of the events, learns of a hidden castle filled with secret knowledge, and is faced with a peril that tests her faith in a higher authority.

4. Blood & Besiegement
In the world of magic oceans, the witch who once held the ruby dagger now possesses even greater magic – that of blood and fire – and she seeks revenge against her old master, murdering anyone who stands in the way. A fallen star who is alive, vain and utterly evil, burns cities all over the world in his search for a girl with a beautiful voice. He finds one in the form of a young woman whom he rescues from danger, and whose music has already been put to use in powerful ways by a very clever Countess. The empires of the world realize that they cannot find Victoria in time to kill her before the inferno ends, so they begin to build up their militaries to face her, albeit when the powerful tiara she holds is at full strength. Taesa herself comes under the influence of the evil queen, who has befriended and rescued her from another enemy. The military balance of power changes, as well, when a spirit warrior takes control of a corrupt and militant empire. Judith travels with the new leader and chronicles his search for a way to defeat Victoria, as the warlord will not suffer to have a woman rule the world.

5. Tiara & Tempest
In the world of magic oceans, the inferno has ended and the power of the tiara proves to be far more destructive than anyone had feared. While it is worn by Victoria, she proves her utter ruthlessness and creates tempests in every ocean, sinking ships in great numbers and calling upon the magical abilities of the ocean waters themselves. Not even those on land are safe, and the true and versatile power of music is unveiled for both tremendous good and immense evil. Empires and mercenaries and strange forces serving other masters are all compelled to rise up against Victoria, only to find that she is protected by a staggering evil force and can withstand their most powerful attacks. Judith learns some of the ocean queen’s evil secrets and wants to reveal them, as they may sway the battle against the storms and the woman who brings them. She records the battle as it unfolds, as her duty to the Chronicler’s Oath never ends. A few adventurers, however, have removed themselves from the worldwide battlefield in search of a mythical city that may hold secrets of a danger far beyond even the horrors that Victoria has unleashed.

6. Luminaries & Lies
In the world of magic oceans, the people of many nations and villages struggle to recover after the devastating tempests ravaged their lands and killed their families. In the chaos, opportunists try to build new kingdoms from the physical and emotional ruins. The heralds of a would-be king come in peace and offer prosperity to those who are willing to obey their liege. Not content with rule by mortals, the servants of the many suns seize land and establish laws in order to praise the stars of the sky as deities. One living fallen star, desiring direct control, burns to death those who will not worship him. From the shadows, an empire of water-worshippers plots to manipulate and destroy them all. For some, however, the greatest prize is not glory but wisdom, and a group of rugged and ruthless explorers travels the world, pursuing a state of quiet in which they can discover hidden secrets, undisturbed by enemies. To this end, they turn light into darkness by gathering the lost luminaries – candles whose flames cast shadows that spread across the sky. At the same time, an underground city, reachable only by pathways through darkness, is covered in a mysterious light. Its mythic status lures treasure hunters and scholars to uncover its wealth and knowledge. Revelation of a deadly threat approaching from an outside world frightens many away before an impending battle, and those few who remain soon learn of the ancient city’s bizarre and lethal purpose.

7. Haunt & Havoc
In the world of magic oceans, King Xander – a deceitful tyrant who ruled the world in ages past – has returned from the grave to rule yet again. His heralds use the powers of songs, spirits and illusions to enchant the people of many nations. Once they are captured, the king tasks his new subjects with a quest to find the greatest ocean of all, whose mythical waters give every power to those who drink of them. Vying with the king for global domination, a cult of sun worshippers has taken control of the world’s financial center. They work to manipulate the economy, build an unholy temple and invoke the powers of the blazing stars against their many enemies. Believing that knowledge of hidden truths is greater than any cult or kingdom, a group of ruthless explorers seeks out and lights the remaining luminaries. Their false flames plunge the world into a deeper darkness, where a mystery is revealed that connects the fates of the stars and the seas. To defend against these threats, a crystal wall is constructed by a wealthy telepath, a brilliant architect and a devious businessman in possession of arcane secrets. Together, they keep an entire continent shielded from the rival oppressors. While the king of the land, the servants of the suns, the bringers of darkness and even legions of haunts from the spirit world all come into conflict, an enemy from a distant galaxy moves in to obtain the powers of the magic oceans for their own goals. During the havoc that ensues, a powerful symphony of enchanted music ushers in a new age.

8. Architecture & Adversity
In the world of magic oceans, the many suns shine down upon glimmering towers of crystal, cruel oppression of laborers and endless quests for power. The brilliant architect, Fantine, skillfully sculpts the gemstones that control the constructor and then directs that wondrous machine to bend myriad rays of light, thereby assembling cities in mere minutes. Her unmatched talent and total devotion to her craft serve to enrich the already wealthy central bank with each new project they finance. Fantine’s innovative work inspires admiration, envy, hope, distrust, ambition and even love, despite her unloving personality. In the poorest regions of the world, farmers and miners struggle to meet the overwhelming demands of robber barons, who tax, torture and even murder the hard working serfs. These ignoble lords do not hesitate to use and abuse magic in order to amass large fortunes, seek exotic pleasures or pursue forbidden knowledge. The worst of them all is Duke Jovan, who desires only to exact revenge against the peasants he now rules and savagely eliminate anyone he distrusts. Seeing a moment of opportunity to demonstrate their faith in the infernal powers, two rival sun worshipping cults each make preparations to give the ultimate praise to the stars. Using trickery and enchantments without remorse, they organize sacrificial rituals to honor the blazing fires above. Across the globe, under the cover of both darkness and false light, daring escapes are planned, ancient secrets are pursued and cunning warriors are trained for impending battles. Suddenly and inexplicably, ocean journeys have become more perilous as ships vanish and mysterious auroras appear, confounding travelers when they attempt to navigate the waters. These are the first signs that the most sinister adversary of all is covertly manipulating the very fabric of the land, sea and sky.

9. Ruin & Reliance
Violence, greed and secrecy are the cultural cornerstones of the world of magic oceans. To survive and thrive, a few live by faith, some depend on money, others trust in friendship, yet most rely on their powers given by the enchanted waters.

Nefarious families, rogue military commanders, greedy central bank governors, ancient entities, despotic nobles, and bloodthirsty cult leaders all attempt to manipulate the world by whatever means possible. Their financial fraud, covert operations, depraved rituals, morbid curiosity and undying anger cause death, poverty, chaos, sickness, fear and mistrust across land and sea.

The mystical explorer—Erikkos—composes symphonies of devastating music to destroy innocent lives and steal arcane knowledge, giving him access to even more power. Other agents of evil—driven by their own heartless ambitions—build and use wicked weapons to bring ruin to body and soul of both the corrupt and the righteous.

The bitter, loveless and despondent Duke Jovan dwells on his hatred for his already fallen enemies while wishing for his own death to end the sorrow which consumes him. A surprise attack from a neighboring noble, visitors with ominous dreams and alarming reports by spies all convince him to unleash his simmering rage. When Jovan leads his soldiers into battle against much larger armies, he proves just how formidable a warlord he truly is.

A group of runaway peasants—led by Patrick, Ruth and Elise—traverse a countryside rife with corruption and decay. The feudal lords have stolen the best opportunities from the honest laborers, paying them paltry sums for long hours in the fields and quarries. Seduction and spiritual warfare stand between the escapees and ultimate freedom. Elise’s songs can protect them from some threats. Yet, their destination may prove to be far more dangerous than their arduous journey.

All elemental powers—light and dark, time and telepathy, stone and song, logic and strength, vitality and nature, spirits and stars—each in their own way, enable the revelation of truths from ages ago. When cryptic clues are deciphered and the source of the ultimate power is discovered, unseen authorities will do anything to protect it.

Fierce armies, political leaders, competing factions, brilliant architects, devoted missionaries, hidden warriors and peasant workers all gather in the volcanic wasteland known as Cinder Valley. While some hope to find peaceful prosperity and others conspire to gain unfair advantage, a tragic sequence of calculated risks and vicious deceptions leads all of them into battle for control of the greatest prize.

Judith—the twelve century old-yet-young Chronicler—grows in faith and love despite watching the fabric of society collapse from sin and madness. She travels the world and witnesses sadistic schemes set into motion by coldblooded killers. These horrific acts give rise to perils beyond anyone’s expectations, transforming the environment into the most devastating enemy.
