With Iclindir Academy in shambles, the party marches to New Breach to take refuge with what remains of them.

Despite the new addition to their party, they cannot withstand their enemies’ relentless attacks and their advanced weaponry puts them at a huge disadvantage. In order to do her duty, Kali must do everything she can even if it means going against her nature.

As the journey towards the truth becomes darker and dangerous, Kali begins to be more ruthless. The path she chose is bloody and the dead bodies of the enemies they have slain starts to permeate through her mind and conscience. She has yet to scratch the surface of Parthenis’ many secrets and the promise of more deaths lingers beyond.

Times have changed and the roads are no longer safe for dracomancers and their dragons. The glory that is akin to their species is no more as they are hunted down like animals and are used for practice. Langley and Branora travel back to New Breach to warn Yenderen of an impending attack towards Eldenhaven. Along the way, Langley grapples with the memories of who he was back when he became a nosferatu. A cure, he believes, exists to end his torment.
