Alexander is born and comes of age. Philip’s antagonist, Demosthenes, devotes his life to halting the demise of Athenian democracy. The not-yet-great philosopher, Aristotle, becomes Alexander’s teacher and attempts to bring civilization to the Macedonian royal family.
