When Mitch meets Jonathan, sparks fly in a way neither expected. It started with a kiss and ended in love. Mitch shares a secret and Jonathan is compelled to dig deep to find the truth, perhaps a truth that neither is ready for.
Part II : Jonathan is a man that cannot be tamed. He is a dominant male who demands perfection and expects to get it from work, friends, and especially from his lovers. Then Mitch comes into his life. This man has been the center of his fantasy for over a decade, since he was a young man in high school. Now both in their late twenties, they find themselves in each other’s arms.
Mitch needs Jonathan’s strength for comfort as he faces demons in his life. He still has nightmares from two decades ago of his father dying in a burning car. A mysterious envelope, given to him by a friend, leads to more questions than answers. Jonathan is used to being a problem solver, and he has a desire to find the answers that Mitch seeks.
Somewhere in the process, what started as a one night stand turns from lust to passion. One reason is because Jonathan needs someone to take care of him, but won’t admit it. The other is because he has to come out on top and to win at all costs.
Part III Jonathan fears nothing and he thrives on challenges. Or at least that’s what he thinks, until he finds himself in a relationship he didn’t mean to happen. As he watches Mitch asleep next to him, he realizes he is falling in love. Or is this something else entirely?
How does he know if this is just for the moment? How does he know the feeling won’t eventually fade? Perhaps it’s the adventure and the mysterious circumstances surrounding Mitch’s father death? Perhaps it’s the excitement of resolving a twenty year old mystery.
Jonathan is scared. He’s not sure if he is afraid of having to say goodbye to Mitch one day, or afraid that Mitch will say goodbye to him. Is it possible the worst part is that he really is in love with Mitch, and the mere thought of having a relationship is what scares him the most?
Part IV: First the steep hills of an untouched mountain, then the trenches of a swampland—for a pampered, well-to-do guy like Jonathan, this has been an adventure. He’s not used to living off the land. He’s lived his life being indulged and spoiled by servants and assistants all around him.
Mitch is constantly surprised at how his lover is able to adapt so well. Watching Jonathan doing physical labor, his desire to solve the mystery behind Mitch’s father’s disappearance has Mitch falling deeply in love. He dare not utter those words, though, for fear of losing the best thing that has happened to him in a long time.
What will happen when this is over? Will Jonathan still be around or will they part and go their separate ways? Each man is afraid to tell the other of his true feelings. Passion and love are just two of the mixed emotions shared by both.
