Dynamics and Randomness II by Alejandro Maass, Servet Martínez, Jaime San Martín
Requirements: .PDF reader, 18 MB
Overview: This book contains the lectures given at the Second Conference on Dynamics and Randomness held at the Centro de Modelamiento Matemático of the Universidad de Chile, from December 9-13, 2003. This meeting brought together mathematicians, theoretical physicists, theoretical computer scientists, and graduate students interested in fields related to probability theory, ergodic theory, symbolic and topological dynamics. The courses were on:
-Some Aspects of Random Fragmentations in Continuous Times;
-Metastability of Ageing in Stochastic Dynamics;
-Algebraic Systems of Generating Functions and Return Probabilities for Random Walks;
-Recurrent Measures and Measure Rigidity;
-Stochastic Particle Approximations for Two-Dimensional Navier Stokes Equations; and
-Random and Universal Metric Spaces.

The intended audience for this book is Ph.D. students on Probability and Ergodic Theory as well as researchers in these areas. The particular interest of this book is the broad areas of problems that it covers. We have chosen six main topics and asked six experts to give an introductory course on the subject touching the latest advances on each problem.

Download Advances in Industrial Robotics by António Paulo Moreira (.PDF)

Advances in Industrial Robotics and Intelligent Systems by António Paulo Moreira, Pedro Neto and Félix Vidal
Requirements: .PDF reader, 44 MB
Overview: Robotics and intelligent systems are intricately connected, each exploring their respective capabilities and moving towards a common goal. In industry, it is common to see robotic systems aided by machine learning and vice versa in applications including robot navigation, grasping, human–robot interaction/collaboration, safety and team management, among others. Achievements targeting the industrial domain can be directly applied in robotic systems operating in other domains. While significant advances have been made in the last few years, industrial robotics and intelligent systems face several scientific and technological challenges related to their integration with other systems, interaction with humans, safety, flexibility, reconfigurability and autonomy. These challenges are especially relevant for robots operating in unstructured industrial environments and sharing a workspace with human coworkers and other robots.

Download Recent Advances in Machine Learning by Yue Wu (.PDF)

Recent Advances in Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence by Yue Wu, Xinglong Zhang, Pengfei Jia
Requirements: .PDF reader, 20 MB
Overview: Machine learning and computational intelligence are currently among the hottest research directions and have been applied to various areas with many successes, such as fields of image processing, point cloud processing, and natural language processing. Researchers explore many intelligent algorithms which are characterized by computational adaptability, robustness, and high-level performance. These algorithms facilitate intelligent behavior in complex and dynamic environments and the development of technology that enables machines to think, behave, or act more humanely. This book, consisting of 10 articles written by research experts on topics of interest, reports on the latest research in machine learning and computational intelligence. Many novel and interesting methods are introduced, which we hope will provide guiding significance for the further development of machine learning and computational intelligence.

Download Springer Handbook of Speech Processing by Jacob Benesty (.PDF)

Springer Handbook of Speech Processing by Jacob Benesty, M. Mohan Sondhi, Yiteng Arden Huang
Requirements: .PDF reader, 29 MB
Overview: From common consumer products such as cell phones and MP3 players to more sophisticated projects such as human-machine interfaces and responsive robots, speech technologies are now everywhere. Many think that it is just a matter of time before more applications of the science of speech become inescapable in our daily life. This handbook is meant to play a fundamental role for sustainable progress in speech research and development. Springer Handbook of Speech Processing targets three categories of readers: graduate students, professors and active researchers in academia and research labs, and engineers in industry who need to understand or implement some specific algorithms for their speech-related products. The handbook could also be used as a sourcebook for one or more graduate courses on signal processing for speech and different aspects of speech processing and applications. A quickly accessible source of application-oriented, authoritative and comprehensive information about these technologies, it combines the established knowledge derived from research in such fast evolving disciplines as signal processing and communications, acoustics, computer science and linguistics.

Download Secure Localization and Time Synchronization by Radha Poovendran(.PDF)

Secure Localization and Time Synchronization for Wireless Sensor and Ad Hoc Networks by Radha Poovendran, Sumit Roy, Cliff Wang
Requirements: .PDF reader, 58 MB
Overview: Localization is a critical process in mobile ad hoc networks and wireless sensor networks. Wireless sensor node or MANET devices need to know the network’s location or its relative location, with respect to the rest of the network neighbors. However, due to the open spectrum nature of wireless communication, it is subject to attacks and intrusions. Hence the wireless network synchronization needs to be both robust and secure. Furthermore, issues such as energy constraints and mobility make the localization process even more challenging.

Secure Localization and Time Synchronization for Wireless Sensor and Ad Hoc Networks presents the latest research results in the area of secure localization for both wireless mobile ad hoc networks and wireless sensor networks.
