Overview: A story as old as time.

Defeating the wendigo came at a price. It may be a game for Lucas and the other Ascended, but for the NPCs, the consequences are dire.
And all that pain just for him to get something as silly as Candle Magic.
On his way back to his warehouse, a local deputy updates Lucas on the investigation on the cult that’s been abducting NPC children. He takes it upon himself to dive into the matter as the FBI shut down the case entirely.
That’s all sidelined by a higher level cowgirl going by Wildfire. He’s stuck helping her until he can get out of her party, which is proving more difficult than he anticipated. She has no interest in getting rid of her new subordinate until she gets the treasure map piece she’s looking for.
Even though Wildfire enjoys getting under his skin, she reveals crucial insights into the game’s nature. As they navigate his first major nighttime event and Point of Interest, he learns more of the game’s mechanics and how to better leverage them for his own benefit.
The more he learns, the better. This cult has larger ambitions than just their immediate gratification. Compelling ambitions he’s not entirely against.
Now, if he can harness Candle Magic to craft something more useful than a simple candle, he might stand a chance.
