Overview: Continuing in the vein of his two prior books, “Our Point” is a collection of the author’s most recent stories, loosely connected to lakefront life, with its initially familiar settings such as “Dinner Cruise”, “Labor Day”, “And Just Swim” (swimming the lake), and “Lakefront” (lakefront camps being replaced with elaborate development), while tied to pressing national and interpersonal issues, but all told with a decidely captivating and readable flow. The author, a native of the town, is admittedly protective of the lakefront and its aesthetivc value beyond price, not to mention its unmatched value as a regional source of naturally clear water. He witnesses how the lake brings out a sense of commonality. It is emblematic of gift, he affirms. It’s a sparkling presence which, with a little attention– as simple as effort to stop and talk– diversely shines within each one of us.
