Overview: Alex Stratton is on a mission to resurrect the dead.
Thirty-five years from now, the world has enjoyed incredible technological advances. Minds can be ‘decanted’ at the moment of death and uploaded into new synthetic bodies, allowing people to live a second life.
The path forward has not always been smooth. Fledgling time-travel technology is banned following a catastrophic accident. And the world is still reeling from the loss of one of its great cities: Paris, forever locked behind an impenetrable quarantine barrier after the outbreak of a deadly virus.
Devastated by the death of his wife in Paris, Alex clings to one hope: can he find a way to bring her back?
However, when there is a break-in at the facility where Alex works as a security guard, suspicion falls on him, threatening his secret, illegal experiments. Forced to investigate, he uncovers a terrible plot that would turn events in Paris into a historical footnote. A plot that somehow seems to link back to him.
Can Alex clear his name and save the day? To do so, he may need to choose between his past and humanity’s future.
