Dawn of the Hunter (#1)
Ten years in the British SAS have turned Lacklan Walker into a supreme killing machine. That, and his twisted, dysfunctional family.
His father, a Boston Brahmin Billionaire, taught him how to hate. His English Aristocrat mother taught him he didn’t belong. And when his only friend and childhood sweetheart, Marni, wanted to teach him how to love, he walked away from her, knowing all he would ever be good at was killing, and war.
Now, Robert Walker, his father has called him back to Boston from Wyoming, because Marni has gone missing. But before Lacklan can go looking for her, Walker has to tell him the truth: the truth about who he is, what he has done, who has taken Marni…and why: the truth about Omega.
And that truth unleashes in Lacklan a rage, a rage that will not be sated until he has hunted down and killed each and every one of his enemies.
This is the dawn of the hunter…
Double Edged Blade (#2)
When SAS vet. Lacklan Walker buries his father at the family graveyard in New England, the last person he expects to see at the funeral is his childhood friend and sweetheart, Marni – the woman who’d killed his father. To make things more complicated, his father’s dying wish was that Lacklan should look after her and protect her. Because Marni is on a mission, a mission to bring down the shadowy organization called Omega, the government within a government, a mission that might just save Mankind.
But when Lacklan tracks her down to Tucson, Arizona, his biggest enemy turns out to be his own passion, his own need for redemption. A need that leads him astray and drags him ever deeper, as avenger and executioner, into the cross-border trade in crack cocaine and young Mexican prostitutes.
But will his blind hunger for justice drive him to forget his promise to his father? Will it lead him to make the biggest mistake of his life – a mistake that could have disastrous consequences not just for him and Marni, but for the world…?
The Storm (#3)
Hurricane Sarah, the largest in recorded history, is howling in off the Atlantic, straight toward New Orleans – and Lacklan Walker is headed for the eye of the storm.
His father’s dying wish was that he keep Marni safe, but Marni has sworn to bring down Omega, the government-within-the government, and that is anything but safe. Now she has disappeared and Lacklan has reason to think she might be following Hurricane Sarah.
But en route to the Big Easy things get complicated when Lacklan discovers that Bat Hayes, a comrade from the British SAS, has been charged with murder in the small Louisiana town of Burgundy – right in the path of the storm.
Lacklan knows what he has to do, he has to go to his comrade. But when he gets to Burgundy things are not so simple. This is a murder Hayes could not have committed,
yet his prints are at the scene and all over the murder weapon, plus Lacklan knows he is keeping a secret, a secret about the victim…about Sarah Carmichael.
As the sky turns black and the storm gathers, it seems Sarah is about to unleash unholy havoc…
A Harvest of Blood (#5)
It should have been a simple drive, from San Francisco International Airport, to Boulder, Wyoming, despite the snow.
Was it because Lacklan was tired? Was it because he was thinking about the woman he loved, or the international crisis he had recently caused? Or was it the crazy blizzard that came out of nowhere and blinded him? Whatever it was, it made him turn the wrong way, it made him turn onto Bloody Creek Road, to the ghost town of Independence, population twenty-five.
He should have stayed the night and moved on; he should have ignored the fact that fifteen year-old Peggy, found dead by the side of the road, had been murdered, not just run down, like the locals said. He should have left when Joe Vasco, the farm manager, and the good folk of Independence, told him to. But Lacklan was never real good at doing what he was told.
So he decided to stay, and look into things. Because Lacklan knew better than anybody, that as you sow, so you reap, and he had decided, whoever killed Peggy, was going to reap a harvest of blood…
To Rule in Hell (#6)
The call came on a Sunday morning in March, in Independence: Go to Seattle, meet a man, he will give you instructions. But those instructions send Lacklan on a journey he could not have suspected, protecting a senator who might be the last best hope of mankind, fleeing before the storm, hunted by killers and law enforcement alike. And when he finally reaches his destination, he discovers his ordeal has only just begun…
But Lacklan, after ten years in the SAS, after a life of killing, has had enough. He had promised his father, on his deathbed, that he would protect Marni, the love of his life, in her fight against Omega, the ruthless government within a government. But he has grown tired, tired of chasing the impossible dream, tired of the killing. He is ready to break his promise. Now he dreams of home in Independence, of a normal life with a good woman.
Yet that may be the most impossible dream of all, for a man who was not born to serve in Heaven, but to rule in Hell…
