Overview: My parents both work at Long Bay as nurses. This book tells not only the story of Long Bay but all of NSW Corrective Services (as it was known in Mr Farrell’s time). A very easy, sometimes extraordinarily funny and often brutal account by one of the old timers who worked in NSW prisons in some of their most tumultuous times. I have studied the history of Long Bay in particular and Mr Farrell is spot on. This is a book you could read in a couple of sittings or pick it up, put it down and not lose the flow. This author knows how to tell a cracking yarn.
