Overview: I am Mark Loren, I grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania. I joined the Army at 18 where I was a tank driver four years finishing my enlistment as a sergeant. I then attended Penn State University where I joined the R.O.T.C. and graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science. I’ve spent 28 years in the Army, most of it in the Reserves to include deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. I’m now a retired Major volunteering at the V.A. hospital and writing books. I published my first book in April 2021. I am a hooked writer, and I enjoy it very much because I’ve been an avid reader my whole life. I live in west-central Florida where I have based my first books. My friend, Boyd Craven Jr is my cowriter and publisher. My exceptional wife Susan and mother of our two adult children is also my cowriter, and editor, we met in the army over 30 years ago, she happily supports my passion for story telling. Hi, I’m Boyd Craven Jr. I grew up in Grand Blanc, MI, USA. I went to grade school there, and at 18, I went to work for General Motors there, where I worked for 30 years and 2 days. I love to read, and do so every day of my life. After I retired from GM, I had, ‘Write a book’ on my bucket list. In November 2012, I published my first here on Amazon, and there’s just no turning back now. Every moment of every day involves my learning to tell a better story in some fashion. I’m hooked on words now, and my wife Donna of 36 years, approves of my addiction!

October Fall (Book 1)
Just as the nation was getting over the virus, everything went dark. All modern electronic technology – toast. All communications and the Internet – down. The police, FEMA, nor anyone in the government showed up for work any more. Help was not coming. Everyone was on their own. The rule of law lost. Jake strongly suspected a massive EMP had completely destroyed the power grid. But he’s a prepper, right? He and his MAG are ready for this, right? He’s a retired Army Major, his wife Samantha a retired Army Captain. Other members of the MAG are retired military too, and they’ve been getting ready for something like this for over a decade. They have experience. Their kids were off to college 90 miles away, and Jake was volunteering at the VA hospital when the SHTF, but he’d planned for that too. He felt confident his plans and his preps would save his family and friends. They were very well-prepared but their neighbors weren’t.
November Feud (Book 2)
We’ve made it to the bug-out location, hoping to just hunker down and stay out of sight—only to find the leader of a local clan just couldn’t leave us alone, resulting in a November Feud. It’s been almost two weeks since the EMP destroyed the American way of life as we knew it. The power grid collapsed and would most likely not be repaired for decades. I’m Jake—a husband, father, brother, Army veteran, militia commander, prepper, stacker, gun owner, and one of the few with common sense who hasn’t panicked yet. I was the first in our MAG to recognize that an EMP event had occurred and knew best what to do because of both my military training and the many post-apocalyptic books I’d read over the years. I moved everyone in our group, along with our essential assets, safely to the bug-out location I’d been helping to prep for years. This is my story.
January Plight (Book 4)
When it looked like life had finally settled down for The Shire, the young adults went on a scavenging mission nearby. It definitely wasn’t safe out there yet. They learned just how evil some people can become, and how quickly—once there’s no fear of consequences for breaking the law, when they encounter the most despicable people yet. Can they survive this, or is this the end of the road for Jazlyn, Cole, and their young friends? Warning: There are scenes in this story depicting extreme violence. If you can’t handle that—this is NOT the story for you.
Minnesota Fall (Book 5)
Coming home after deployment with the Second Infantry Division, his enlistment up, Marcus had a big day planned, and his buddies arriving with him all knew about it. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as he’d hoped. He discovered that while he’d been gone… Jody got his girlfriend. Left standing at the airport with an engagement ring in his pocket and his faithful dog Crapper in his arms, Marcus watched her walk away with his now former best friend. At the suggestion of his buddy, Sergeant Felix Walker, Marcus and Crapper decided to clear out of there and head to the north woods of Minnesota to spend some time away from everyone and everything—but trouble seemed to have it in for him—and October 28th was just around the corner.
