Bull (#12)
"You’re in the mountains now, with a snowstorm knocking at the door. Danger is here…" – Bull

I was only supposed to be here for two weeks.
A secluded lodge in the mountains, perfect for my creative process.
Except I haven’t written a single word, and my publisher’s deadline is near.
Maybe that’s why I extended my stay, but something else is keeping me here now.
Mr. Bull Taner… The lodge’s mysterious owner.
He’s a brute of few words, but he’s allowed me to stay with him for the extent of this storm everyone is so worried about.
He’s allowed me to stay under one condition: I must obey his commands when danger presents itself.
At first, I think nothing of it, assuming he means survival.
But when I have a breakdown and admit to him my creative struggles, something awakens between us.
He’s telling me what to do, and his orders burn hotter than any of the fires keeping us warm.
The power is gone.
The roads are wiped out.
And I’m alone with a man who consumes my every thought and dream.
Bull Tanner is helping me write again, to find my passion, but I’m afraid that our relationship is smoldering into something so much more.

A blizzard is burying the Bull Lodge, and Mr. Bull Tanner plans on keeping his only guest safe and warm. Sarah and Bull are alone, without power, and lost in novel feelings they can’t explain or ignore.

Miles (#13)
"Maybe simplicity isn’t what you need; you just need someone to share your complexities with…" -Miles

The mountains are perfect for high-altitude training.
If I’m going to make the Olympic team, I need to struggle for it.
When I run up here, my lungs burn a little harder.
My muscles ache a little deeper.
But something else is causing my heart to beat much, much faster.
Miles Butcher, the overly friendly man on the mountain.
Built like a boulder with the brain of a bookworm, I can’t help but be charmed by his pleasant smile.
I even accept his offer to stay in his cabin for a week while I train.
It makes sense, now I don’t have to drive up the mountain each day.
And I get to spend all week with a hot older man who insists on cooking for me and massaging my sore muscles.
But the more I learn about him, the harder it is to treat this casually.
He’s making me think and feel things that frighten me.
When we talk, I want to spill every secret and insecurity.
I’m a runner, I should be accustomed to things moving fast.
But with Miles, I feel like I’m running a marathon that will never end.
A race that will take me places I’m afraid to go.
I’ve always been alone.
I can do this on my own.
So why can’t I imagine my future without him anymore?

Florence has been running from her past her entire life, but Miles Butcher is making her stop and think. The mountain brings her a peace she’s never known, and this man will show her a love she never thought possible…

Odin (#14)
"By the time we cross into Nevada, I feel like I’ve mapped out our entire life together…" – Odin

Breaking down on a mountain road in the middle of the night should be bad.
My car has taken its final breaths, and I’m stranded.
I guess it’s a good thing I’ve always been lucky.
Odin, firefighter and true gentleman, happens upon me in the night.
Not only does he take me to his cabin, but he insists on driving me to Montana so I can make my brother’s wedding.
Honestly, I’d go anywhere with this bear of a man.
And maybe we could pretend he’s my boyfriend so my parents will get off my back.
The open road provides plenty of time to get to know each other.
And even more opportunities to unwind the tension between us.
I’ve always lived life like I’m floating in the breeze.
But Odin demands something grounded. Something real.
I’ve always been a little too carefree for commitment, but I’ll be damned if this road isn’t leading somewhere special…

Odin and Mary-Allen have a lot of open road ahead of them, and the summer sun isn’t the only thing heating up the drive.

Nathan (#15)
"I nearly died that night, but I had to be inches from heaven to find my angel…" – Nathan

If you had told me last week that I’d soon be harboring a wanted man, I would have laughed.
But I couldn’t have known what I’d feel when I stumbled upon Nathan Fields.
I find him bleeding out on the side of the road, begging not to be taken to a hospital.
What are the odds that the woman who finds him is a doctor?
I take him to my cabin, get him stitched up, and hear his story while trying not to get lost in his eyes.
He’s being hunted, pursued by a corrupt sheriff and his gangster brother.
We can hear their motorcycles in the night, searching the mountain for the man who could have them both locked up for good.
The lie they’ve told is dangerous.
Every moment is life or death.
Maybe it’s the danger that’s got the two of us so fired up.
But I can’t help but feel like it’s something more…
My life has changed in the space of a heartbeat, and all that matters now is keeping Nathan from the law.
He’s under my care, hiding in my home, and I’ll die before I let them have him.

Nathan is in trouble, but Val won’t let that scare her away from true love.

James (#16)
"One look at you is all I need…" – James

There’s nothing I despise more than the cold.
Well, except for maybe my annoying boss.
He sent me to the mountains to inspect a summer camp.
Only it’s the dead of winter, and I hear the camp owner is a jerk.
But when I fall through the ice of the frozen lake, the warm hands of James Cinder save my life.
He carries me to his cabin to keep me from freezing to death.
But the entire time I think I’ve already died and gone to heaven.
A beard that could keep me warm all winter.
Muscles built like the mountains themselves.
And earthy eyes that warm me with one glance.
Nobody told me that the camp’s owner was such a man.
He builds me a fire.
He holds me close to keep me warm.
And things start to spiral, making me feel like I’m drowning again.
It’s all happening so fast, but I can’t help but lose myself in the fantasy.
Because Mr. Cinder doesn’t want me to leave…
And I’m just hoping that this isn’t a dream.

Violette may have fallen through the ice, but James is here to keep things hot.
