At last, a superhero story for readers who love comic books but hate all those annoying pictures! When Captain Might started out writing his journal he was happy as a clam. Being a superhero was a blast – freezing bad guys with his arctic breath and uppercutting them into orbit – what’s not to love? His enemies got to have their fun too with their earthquake machines and their lava cannons and their robot tentacles. It’s a merry old game, the ping pong of good versus evil, or at least it was before Professor D’eath tossed out the rule book and started straight up murdering people.
Superfluous (Book 1)
When Captain Might started out writing his journal he was happy as a clam. Being a superhero was a blast – freezing bad guys with his arctic breath and uppercutting them into orbit – what’s not to love? His enemies got to have their fun too with their earthquake machines and their lava cannons and their robot tentacles. It’s a merry old game, the ping pong of good versus evil, or at least it was before Professor D’eath tossed out the rule book and started straight up murdering people. Suddenly Captain Might is catapulted into in the real world – a world of public inquiries and law suits and media witch hunts. And to make matters worse, Professor D’eath has poached sixteen-hundred pounds of weapons-grade plutonium and looks set to scratch ‘ALL THE HUMANS’ on the side of a gigantic funeral urn. No doubt about it, things are about to get a whole lot uglier before they get worse…
Powerless (Book 2)
Imagine how it would feel to be able to do anything, then have that anything turn to nothing. Captain Might used to be the most powerful man on the planet – the all-conquering American paragon who knifed the sky like a buttered bullet and fired beams from his eyes so pinpoint mean they could knock the prick off a Martian. That was before his arch-enemy, Professor D’eath, lured him into a trap, snuffed out his powers and transformed him from a superhero to a superzero. So far the Captain has managed to make a secret of his being neutered, but how long until the truth gets out? People are beginning to ask questions – if Professor D’eath is getting ready to wipe out humankind, how come Earth’s protector is hiding in his apartment with the blinds drawn and his arm in a sleeve of Pringles?
Grounded (Book 3)
Captain Might used to have everything. Now he just has everything to complain about. With Professor D’eath hovering over planet Earth ready to turn the planet into a smoke ring, where is mankind’s valiant saviour? Holed up in the burbs sucking back booze like a pup on a tit, that’s where. When the news breaks that Captain Might has lost his mojo, his safety becomes hopelessly compromised. Supervillains the world over start lining up to settle the Cap’s hash; supervillains who can kill him as soon as look at him (literally in many cases). For his own wellbeing, our former hero is enrolled into a protection program and relocated to an undisclosed location codenamed The Bunker – grounded, in every sense of the word. But no sooner has Captain Might ditched the Spandex and learned to accept his fate than he discovers Professor D’eath hasn’t finished with him quite yet…
Cape Closed (Book 4)
Captain Might is no more. Long live Mister Normal! In the concluding chapter of his diary, our hero documents his return journey to the realm of super-heroics, only this time minus the super. Despite all odds, the former Captain Might has transformed himself from a laughing stock into a folk hero. Having returned to the city in a suit and a tie he quickly cements a reputation as ‘Mister Normal,’ a regular Joe staring down the forces of evil armed with nothing more than forward planning and a little inside baseball. Then everything goes to balls. Professor D’eath puts the final stage of his plan into motion, starting with a full scale robot invasion and the imprisonment of any superhero able to stand against him. Suddenly Mister Normal is the last man standing, but will he find a way to settle the score with his nemesis, or will he learn the hard way that ordinary men are only capable of ordinary things?
