Overview: “Come on,” he said, getting to his feet. “If you’re as clean as you say, I’ll have a lotta use for you. Don’t worry, most of it won’t be as bad as you think.”
“I don’t think anything, one way or the other,” she said dully.
“Good,” he nodded, gripping her arm. “That’s the best way.”
He led her out of the bar and they walked over to the nearby parking lot. Mae waved at the man in the little booth, and the man, in turn, shouted, “Ramon, bring out the Riviera.”
Two minutes later, a shining blue-and-white Riviera was standing at the curb, and Jill was getting in on the passenger side while Mac slid behind the wheel.
They got out of the car, went inside the mansion, and Jill was stunned to see the spacious rooms, the expensive furniture, the imagine wallpaper, and the deep-pile carpeting.
He led her to the middle of the room and walked away, sitting on one of the chaises as if he were some kind of a sultan.
“Turn around,” he ordered, and she slowly turned, letting him look at her from all sides.
“Yeh!” he nodded. “What I see, I like. Now I wanna see more.”
