Overview: Stephen Gay is a published author of a graphic novel WHY ALWAYS WINS. NIGHT OWLS is Stephen’s debut science fiction novel.
Design and technology has always been a significant part of my life. As a kid, I wrote fantasy stories and loved to play with building things. When I got older, my love of problem solving and making things led to a degree in Industrial Design, from Carleton University. I remain fascinated by how things work and how our world might evolve. For me, science fiction brings ideas to life in a magical way, allowing us to experiment with alternate realities and future concepts.
Growing up near Toronto, I fell in love with the Canadian rave and electronic music scene. Great music, costumes, festivals and parties continue to be a focus in my life and now my family’s.
It only made sense that my writing debut with NIGHT OWLS would bring my love of electronic music together with my love of science fiction – it wasn’t easy, but it feels genuine and fun.
Night Owls is a tribute to all the friends and chosen family I met along my journey. Thank you for keeping the party going. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.
