Q&A
Q: What is blue light?
A: Blue light is a range of the visible light spectrum coming from a variety of technologies including computers, smartphones, televisions, and lights.
Q: Is blue light always a bad thing?
A: Nope, it largely depends on the timing people receive the light. Natural exposure to blue light during the daylight hours boosts people’s energy, alertness and mood. However, elongated exposure to the waves transmitted through screen devices during the evening can disrupt circadian rhythm and cause various health effects including a disruption in normal sleep schedules.
Q: How can blue light effect our sleep?
A: Exposure to blue light can increase heart rate and body temperature and even can disrupt circadian rhythm. To ensure better sleep, the blue light should be decreased at night.
