When photojournalist Duncan Wylie is walking out on London’s Hampstead Heath, he follows tracks to a nearby mansion- -seemingly deserted except for two dead bodies on the floor.
During their investigations, the police discover a terrified mute boy of six cowering in the backroom of the mansion. With no clues as to his identity, the boy is placed in foster care and taken on as a patient by grieving therapist Hannah Wilton, in the hope that she can unlock his voice and the mysteries of the Hampstead murders.
Superintendent Begg, along with young Officer Ferry, set out to solve the deadly case, but more blood will be shed before secrets are revealed.
