But when she gets partnered up with veteran PPD officer, the infamous pixie Max Shakespeare, Bethany has zero wiggle room. He scrutinizes her every move, giving her crap with nearly each step she takes. One major mistake and she could be sent back to the Netherworld.
With the city of New York hanging in the balance, along with her best friend and her entire species, Bethany must find a way to swallow her pride and find her place in the dangerous world of the goblin mafia, rogue vampires, and one stupidly horny wizard.
2. Savage Claws
Getting claws raked across your face isn’t all that fun…
The New York Paranormal Police Department is still reeling from the beating they took while saving Mike, the weretiger. Bethany Black is resilient, though, even if she does have to deal with the constant criticisms of her pixie partner. When wizards start turning up dead, Bethany and her crew have to figure out who’s behind it. Turns out, this isn’t such a mystery, seeing as the assassin left a knife at the scene and it had a big "H" on the handle. Plus, Bethany caught sight of the guy since he was the one who threw that knife into her leg.
The new villain, known as The Hunter, is making things more interesting by the minute. He keeps assassinating the wizards the PPD needs to question.
As Bethany continues to build her chops as a supernatural cop, she’ll have to learn to stand on her own…after she heals from that knife wound, of course. But the city has a way of breaking you down, if you’re not careful. Bethany Black is not known for being careful…
3. Deadly Claws
Things are about to get bloody… Bethany Black has had enough.
Baudelaire has ramped up her tactics, doing everything she can to rip the city a new hole. The mob’s continued efforts to perfect the Blood Claw is paying dividends. The Hunter keeps trying to drive a knife between Bethany’s crew and their ability to put an end to the mayhem.
And Bethany’s pixie pain-in-the-a** partner looks like he might have deeper connections into the mob than anyone had ever guessed.
