Nebula Awards #27: SFWA’s Choices for the Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year by James Morrow
Requirements: .PDF reader, 13 mb
Overview: Besides offering works by the winners in all four Nebula categories (Michael Swanwick, Nancy Kress, Mike Conner, and Alan Brennert), Nebula Awards 27 continues the tradition of featuring fiction and articles not collected elsewhere. Fully eight out of the ten fiction offerings in this volume appear in no other best-of-the-year anthology, and original essays include Kathryn Cramer on the year in science fiction and Bill Warren on the year’s SF movies. Finally, there are three poignant tributes to Isaac Asimov (from Arthur C. Clarke, Harlan Ellison, and George Zebrowski) as well as Asimov’s final words, "Farewell, Farewell," from the booklet distributed at his memorial service.

This is a masterful collection from the editor whose earlier volume, Nebula Awards 26, was called a "treat" by Publishers Weekly. As the Los Angeles Times said of an earlier Nebula volume: “If you seek the best in quality and diversity, look no further."
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
