1. The Nebraska Quotient
An ex-private eye, known only as Nebraska, is writing his first crime novel at 4 a.m. when his ex-partner crashes through his screen door with a gunshot wound and dies on his floor, clutching an envelope full of X-rated photos of a senator’s daughter. Things only get worse for Nebraska from there. Soon he’s pitted against the Chicago mob, the Omaha police, a porno ring, and a senator with presidential aspirations…and then the killings begin. The challenge for Nebraska becomes more than just solving the mysteries. It becomes survival.

2. Moving Targets
Nebraska is an ex-PI who’d like to be a novelist, but the writing of his book is going slowly, his marriage is disintegrating, and the bills are piling up. So he agrees to find the missing daughter of a local banker, which appears to be a pretty ordinary case, until the banker is killed and it seems the murderer also has the girl. Nebraska’s relentless investigation plunges him into the cold depths of Omaha corruption and into the center of a raging snowstorm…and he’ll be lucky if he can make it out alive.

3. Money Trouble
The struggling P.I and crime-writer Nebraska, a wannabe "Raymond Chandler of the Corn Belt," is strapped for money. He’s hired by his old high school girlfriend, recently widowed after her husband was gunned down, supposedly after perpetrating a string of bank robberies. The problem is, nobody knows what her dead hubby did with all the loot… and the local cops are pressuring her for the money. She wants Nebraska to find the cash or, better yet, prove that her husband was framed. That’s no easy task, and one that could put Nebraska in the ground, too.

4. Things Invisible
The private eye and struggling novelist known only as Nebraska is hired to find a missing woman by her mother, who claims her daughter is a sweet recluse who would never run away. But Nebraska knows his client isn’t telling him everything… or she would have gone to the police for help and wouldn’t be so evasive about her family’s past. He soon learns that ignoring his initial reservations could be a fatal mistake as he attracts the unwanted attention of a local mobster, knife-wielding thugs, and a brutal killer.

5. The Naked Eye
After finishing a case in Minneapolis, private eye Nebraska gets into a fist-fight with a rich kid who has more money than brains. But what seems like a passing, unpleasant experience turns into a nightmare that follows Nebraska back to his home in Omaha, where a friend, mistaken for him, is savagely beaten and left for dead. So Nebraska disappears into an alias he created for an emergency and, while in hiding and in anonymity, tries to discover who the brutal, vengeful forces are who want him killed.
