Mission Critical – A Cold War Novel (#1)
American intelligence has intercepted radio messages between the notoriously rival Chinese and Russian governments. SR-71 recon images show Chinese troops massing along North Korea’s border with South Korea. With a possible invasion imminent, South Korea requests America to intercede. The carrier USS John Preston and her battle group receive orders to proceed to the Sea of Japan. Within the group is the USS Bronson, the newest, most sophisticated destroyer in the world. On board is a satellite-based weapons system of unimaginable power.
Commander Grant Stevens — Navy SEAL and intelligence officer — is assigned to the Black Ops division of the Naval Investigative Service. The Chief of NIS orders him to attend a meeting with SecDef and the Joint Chiefs. After reviewing intel and SR-71 images, he voices his opinion. The buildup is nothing more than a ruse. The communists are after the Bronson.
Stevens teams up with his friend, Senior Chief Joe Adler, aboard the Preston. The two will find themselves confronting Russian commandos and an old KGB nemesis, while trying to hunt down a communist mole Their mission: prevent the capture of the Bronson and stop the conspiracy — a conspiracy that may penetrate the heart of the Navy itself.
Warning Order (#2)
Definition of a SEAL’s Warning Order: What, Where, How, Who, When
Not one to stay within the boundaries of a warning order, Navy SEAL Captain Grant Stevens usually follows his gut instincts. This time will be no different as he attempts to terminate a plot to annihilate Russia’s heads of government. Along with Lieutenant(j.g.) Joe Adler, the covert operation will take them behind the Iron Curtain where they’ll encounter murder, kidnapping and betrayal. Grant will draw on his longtime friendship with KGB Colonel Grigori Moshenko, asking him to assist in diffusing the deadly plot. The plan: penetrate the very heart of the Soviet Union, its fortress of power — the Kremlin.
In the Mouth of the Wolf (#3)
Captain Grant Stevens and his team wait in Germany for a flight home, having just returned from a completed mission in Austria. A call from Admiral John Torrinson, Chief of NIS, changes their plans. Grant and his men are asked to "go above and beyond" again. They’ll complete the new mission with lethal speed and precision. Without warning an American facility in Sicily has been attacked by a renegade Mafia group. Sarin nerve gas, heavy weapons, and munitions have been stolen. Collateral damage is heavy.
SEAL missions are grueling by any definition of the word, but this mission takes an unexpected turn. Stevens discovers his friends could be among the victims. The mission: Infiltrate the compound, eliminate resistance, rescue any hostages, and find the nerve gas.
Sacrifice of One (#4)
Operation Redemption" Funded by the CIA, the covert op, a plan to rescue five American POWs in Vietnam, ended in failure. For Grant Stevens and his SEAL Team, the SAR mission was one of the most emotional they ever attempted. It would not be forgotten. Years Later – The news hits the Agency like a bombshell. American POWs are still being held — but not in Vietnam. Is it possible they’re the same five men from the failed mission? To Stevens this matters little. The men must be brouht home. Not often in his line of work does a second chance come along, but he’s about to get that second chance. This time he’ll make it right — even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice.
Last Op (#5)
While on much needed R&R in southern England, Captain Grant Stevens is unexpectedly drawn into a plot of unthinkable terror. A surprise encounter. A mysterious death. A letter. Those are all he has to go on, until his instincts kick in. Top secret documents stolen from an RAF base may have been handed over to terrorists, a base hiding a stockpile of nuclear weapons.Stevens, and his long-time friend, Lieutenant(j.g.) Joe Adler, have less than seventy-two hours to identify all the players and piece together the entire, terrifying puzzle. Resting in their hands are the lives of thousands of unsuspecting citizens. Failure means catastrophe.
Shanghai Mission (#6)
An intriguing proposition has been extended to former Navy SEAL Grant Stevens. Equipment, transportation, salaries, money in offshore accounts will be supplied by four wealthy individuals. Every mission will be sanctioned by the President of the United States. Stevens will organize and head up a team comprised entirely of former Navy SEALs. Three months after a successful operation in Nicaragua, the men are called into action again. The next mission will send them into unchartered territory — communist China. An already dangerous op to rescue two captured SEALs turns into more than the men bargained for, when they find themselves in the midst of plans to attack the U.S. Vice President in Shanghai. Team Alpha Tango will have one shot at preventing the attack — then one shot at getting out of China alive.
Code Name Antares (#7)
Moscow wants them. Afghanistan needs them. Ten top secret weapons developed by the U.S. Navy. A traitor, working somewhere within the DoD, has made an initial offer to the Russians: the weapons in exchange for — nothing. While the Russians are suspicious, they decide to proceed with the transaction. The assignment is turned over to Russia’s newest operative. "Antares" is prepared to take on his first mission: liberate the weapons from the Americans. He devises an ingenious plan. With odds stacked against him, he’s confident he can pull it off. Success is within reach. All that’s standing in his way: Grant Stevens and Team Alpha Tango. Assigned to the mission by the President, Stevens and the Team are tasked with preventing the weapons from reaching their intended destinations, finding the Russian, and the traitor. Encountering obstacles, frustration, and surprises at nearly every turn, Stevens and Alpha Tango must try and outwit Antares. What none of them realize is another important, unpredictable "player" is ready to cast itself into the deadly fray. Fate.
Operation Gold Eagle (#8)
Ivan Reznikov. America’s Most Wanted. Responsible for over 80 American deaths. Two years after his first attack, an intercepted transmission between Moscow and East Berlin reveals he’s been found. The U.S. immediately offers an exchange: Reznikov for Alexei Dotsenko. During his meeting at the White House, Grant Stevens learns there’s much more to the exchange. The CIA lost contact with a deep cover operative. Her last known location was Drazowe, Poland. After discussions and proposals, President Carr approves "Operation Gold Eagle." While questions still remain unanswered, Team Alpha Tango prepares for its two-part mission. The first must be completed successfully before the second can even be attempted. What the men cannot foresee is the sudden escape of Ivan Reznikov. Alpha Tango’s mission won’t be over until it finds the elusive Reznikov. No matter what it takes, A.T. must bring his violent, murderous rampage to an end.
Silent Vengeance (#9)
The attack didn’t originate from the sea, or air, or land. It struck without warning, silently, quickly, decisively. The premeditated onslaught against the aircraft carrier, USS John Preston, left young sailors dead, dying, or rendered incapacitated, with little hope of full recovery. The weapon of choice was unique, and used with devastating consequences. A drug called "yaba." No one had claimed responsibility. The U.S. government and Navy were baffled. CIA and NSA combed through masses of past intercepted transmissions, searching for anything that would lead them to those responsible. Aboard the Preston, Admiral John Torrinson, former NIS Chief, headed up his own on board investigation. Everyone agreed that the search for answers would go well beyond the carrier itself. Burma, Thailand, Laos — three countries within the Golden Triangle — were known to make yaba, a potent energy pill that had now become a killer. Grant Stevens and Team Alpha Tango — all former Navy SEALs — are about to move forward with the training facility when they receive a call from State. All plans are put on hold. Admiral Torrinson has specifically requested the Team for the mission. Who was involved? Where would the op lead the Team? Both were open-ended questions. And as with any mission, well designed plans could go south in a heartbeat. For Alpha Tango, this op would substantiate that as fact.
