He’s been happily married for over 20 years. He’s also a Georgia Tech graduate in Industrial Engineering. He loves water sports in any form and swims 3-4 miles a week in anything resembling water. He and his wife have no children. They do, however, have one terribly spoiled Keeshond dog named Kelsey.

Nanotroopers Episode 3: Deeno and Mighty Mite
Newly commissioned Lieutenant Johnny Winger returns to Banikaiyan, Mali for nano forensics on the HNRIV virus outbreak. A medbot insert into a corpse goes horribly wrong and the squad is swarmed by enemy bots but newly minted troopers Deeno D’Nunzio and Mighty Mite Barnes save the day. Forensic evidence points to an orbiting lab and Winger’s team investigates. They learn the threat is worse than imagined; highly placed people inside UNIFORCE are working for the Red Hammer cartel. The trail of evidence leads to a presumed Red Hammer base in Hong Kong. Winger and 1st Nano investigate but are overwhelmed and caught, trapped inside the base. A new and improved virus is about to be unleashed and only Red Hammer has the antidote…and it’s highly addictive and programmable.
Nanotroopers Episode 4: ANAD
Johnny Winger escapes from Lions Rock and travels back to Table Top, where he is debriefed by Intel (Q2). Kraft wants Winger to go to Northgate University and meet Dr. Irwin Frost, to work with Frost on enhancing ANAD’s capabilities. Winger does this and learns how ANAD came to be born. While at Northgate, Winger and Frost come under assault from unknown swarm assailants and Doc Frost is injured, but will recover. The evidence points back to Red Hammer. What’s worse, in follow-on tests with ANAD, the nanobot seems to be compromised and functioning poorly. Winger believes there is a spy/saboteur within the Lab, possibly one of Frost’s assistants. How to ferret out the culprit? Winger has an idea: plant ANAD spybots on known suspects. It’s legally questionable but the Lab director okays it. The tactic works and Winger commands the bots on the real culprit (an assistant in the Lab) to MOB the perp and immobilize him. He’s a Carpathian intern named Milan Stovacs, a Red Hammer agent. Stovacs is taken into custody and faces a memory trace session. Meanwhile, Winger helps Frost to repair ANAD and regain its capabilities. It’s here that Frost proposes a symbiotic embedding of ANAD inside the bodies of Quantum Corps troopers, as a future capability. Winger is intrigued and volunteers for the first test of the procedure. But the procedure isn’t proven and something goes wrong. Winger starts to flatline…the embedded ANAD is having unanticipated effects. Will Johnny Winger survive the test?
Nanotroopers Episode 5: Table Top Mountain
Johnny Winger recovers at Table Top. But Sheila Reaves is acting strange. Turns out she’s been replicated and is an ‘angel’; the real one was kidnapped in Singapore. Not only that, but the nanotroopers find evidence that other Table Top personnel, even inanimate objects aren’t what they seem. Winger now has an ANAD embed. But they have to find Reaves…she knows a lot about Quantum Corps operations and tactics. It turns out that the kidnapping was bait, a sting operation by Quantum Corps to attract Red Hammer into making a move. The real Reaves is assigned as an undercover counter-intel agent at UNIFORCE Headquarters in Paris…and the Security Affairs Commissioner (UNSAC) himself is suspected of collaborating with the cartel. Surveillance reveals UNSAC is overseeing some kind of strange archeological dig in Kenya, a place called Engebbe. Winger and Reaves are assigned to follow and investigate. At Engebbe, they find the cartel’s operatives are intensely interested in excavating a strange sphere from the same site that ANAD’s processor originally came from. The nanotroopers join the dig posing as interns on summer study. They locate the sphere inside a cave, but the excavation walls collapse, trapping them inside the cave. Worse, ANAD itself is missing, after coming into contact with the sphere. They have no choice to but to try and locate ANAD. Winger touches the sphere himself and goes on a dizzying ride through multiple quantum states, to places and times far distant from Earth. It seems as if Red Hammer may be in contact with an extraterrestrial race, using their archives to help their criminal enterprises. Somehow, Winger and Reaves have to get out of the cave and away from the sphere and warn the Corps of what has happened.
Nanotroopers Episode 6: I, Lieutenant John Winger…
Johnny Winger, rescued from the Engebbe dig site, has come under suspicion by UNIFORCE Security of being a double agent. It’s a setup orchestrated by UNSAC, but Winger can’t convince anybody of that. He has to undergo memory trace and ANAD penetration. He passes the test but several troopers in the unit don’t…they’re angels and have to be removed. Winger is depressed by this and wants Major Kraft to authorize a special op to find out where the missing troopers are. Kraft is willing, but needs authorization from UNIFORCE. However, before the op can get underway, a new menace has developed. Red Hammer has used its stolen ANAD technology to create a special angel…a robotic celebrity and messiah named Symborg. He begins to attract millions of followers…a new religion/spiritual discipline called Assimilationism grows rapidly. Even worse, business and political leaders, even sports and entertainment stars all over the world are turning out to be angels. Some kind of mass displacement effort is underway. If it continues, Red Hammer may well wind up running most of the world as their own enterprise…with all the powers and weapons of multiple nation-states at their disposal. Some of the displaced have been disassembled. Others, including most of the Quantum Corps troopers that turned up missing, are incarcerated below ground, below Mount Kipwezi, in Kenya. Kraft approves the special forces mission to locate and rescue them. But the rescue force doesn’t realize there is something stirring in the archaeological dig site at Engebbe, Kenya nearby…ancient ancestors of the race that Red Hammer is in contact with have been released and are moving to prevent the rescue…and continue their global displacement effort….
Nanotroopers Episode 7: Hong Chui
Winger escapes Kipwezi; Symborg is tracked to India. 1st Nano investigates but can’t defeat a strange quantum device inside a Hindu temple. Quantum Corps lab develops a swarm inhibitor to deal with Symborg. The robotic enemy shows up in Kolkata.Winger’s mission is to insert this device. But his own embedded ANAD has been corrupted and one of the troopers is an angel.
Nanotroopers Episode 8: Doc Frost
1st Nano has a corrupt ANAD. Doc Frost has been kidnapped. New trooper Dana Tallant commands a rescue mission. But the op goes south.Now she’s a captive of Red Hammer.Winger has to rescue survivors He’s also has to find Doc Frost; intel suggests Doc may be working for the cartel.The mission is risky. In the end, 1st Nano will encounter far more than they ever trained for.
