The Mystic Match Mysteries are a cozy series about Casper, a college town haunted by ghostly apparitions that its scientists and psychics agree are manifestations of parallel universes. In the first book, Demeter West and the Ghost Town Glitch, local matchmaker and PI Demeter West gets called in to investigate some interdimensional turbulence in the basement of the local library. What she finds has the potential to change Casper forever.
Each book of the Mystic Match Mysteries series features a romance between a couple of Demeter’s clients and each one focuses on some new unfolding of the great mystery that is life in Casper.
Though she is new to mystery writing, Marta has a parallel career as a poet and poetry editor. Her other two books, Mustang Sally Pays Her Debt to Wilson Pickett and Drawn to Marvel: Poems from the Comic Books, come from that world.

Demeter West and the Ghost Town Glitch, Book 1
In this first book, Demeter West and the Ghost Town Glitch, local matchmaker and PI Demeter West gets called in to investigate some interdimensional turbulence in the basement of the local library. Over the course of the investigation, Demeter learns some new approaches to tarot work, some local history, some new information about Casper’s situation within the multiverse, and some things she didn’t know about her husband and daughter. The first book also holds a barbeque scene that will make your mouth water (see the blog for vegan and traditional recipes), dogs who will entertain you with their antics, and teenagers with their own agendas where you least expect them.
Demeter West and the Absent Presence, Book 2
In this, the second book, Demeter West and the Absent Presence, disappearances abound. Demeter West must investigate, not just for the good of her clients, but for the sake of her family as well. Ouija boards come to the fore this time, though tarot cards and cowrie shells also appear. The teens continue their sleuthing into Stormy Castle and Evil Steve & Scary Gary face some exciting new challenges. As usual, books, dogs, food! Ask at Wild Beets about the Southern Showstopper.
