Requirements: ePUB / MOBI / AZW Reader, 2.7MB
Overview: Melissa R. L. Simonin writes "good clean, feel good fiction with a sense of humor". Her books cover a variety of genres ranging from romance, mystery, suspense, paranormal, supernatural, historical, inspirational, and Christian fiction. Once named, Melissa’s characters take on a life of their own. They have stories to tell, and it’s a race to keep up. She learned the hard way not to name the characters in a novel until she’s ready to write, because once they have their names the characters start to dialogue, and there’s no stopping them once they do.
Genre: Fiction, Mystery / Thriller
#1 – 715 Mystery Lane
When twenty-five year old mystery/suspense writer Will Matthews and his dog Fox meet twenty-one year old Gemma Randall, caretaker for the house next door, Will is afraid that the predictions of family, friends, and his ex-fiancé have come true after all.
But Will hasn’t lost his mind, and the character in his current book has not become more real to him than reality. Gemma is very real, and far more interesting than writing about the character that shares her name. After meeting her, the reclusive writer soon finds himself plunged into a real-life mystery. Someone doesn’t want 715 Mystery Lane occupied, and is determined to drive the new caretaker out. Will and Fox come to Gemma’s rescue and between the two of them they’re determined to protect her and find out who doesn’t want her there and why.
Will, aided by Gemma and Fox, begin to unravel the mystery surrounding the house. What they discover is beyond anything they ever imagined, but it’s not without consequence. Their newfound knowledge puts Gemma in danger and unless Will can find a way to save her, it will cost Gemma her life.
#2 – 601 Suspense Street
There’s something… peculiar about the old abandoned Collins house. The residents of Suspense Street are talking about it, and Will and Fox have seen enough to know the stories aren’t the result of the townspeople’s overactive imaginations.
Seventy-nine years ago, the Collinses abruptly packed their things and left during the night. Since that time, a piano and the sound of crying is sometimes heard coming from the darkened house. No one ever lives there for long, and rumor has it that the house is haunted. Will is intrigued, and determined to find a reasonable explanation. In the meantime, Gemma is preparing to meet Will’s parents, which has her more than a little nervous. Her friends Rachel and Grace are coming for a visit also, anxious to have a look at Gemma’s new life and her new boyfriend for themselves. Gemma’s grandmothers have cooking lessons to conduct, Fox has Will and Gemma to watch out for, a kitten to raise, and a boy in need of the kind of help only a super-smart dog can provide. If only Fox could be in three places at once! Even a dog of ancient and noble breed can’t do that, but there’s so much else that he can.
Will, Gemma, and Fox must work together to uncover the truth if they are to solve the mystery surrounding the Collins house, right an old wrong, and bring peace to a troubled past.
