Overview: Alice Mary Norton always had an affinity to the humanities. She started writing in her teens, inspired by a charismatic high school teacher. First contacts with the publishing world led her, as many other contemporary female writers targeting a male-dominated market, to choose a literary pseudonym. In 1934 she legally changed her name to Andre Alice. The androgynous Andre doesn’t really say "male" to English speaking readers, even though it is a man’s name in other languages (i.e. Norwegian). She also used the names Andrew North and Allen Weston as pseudonyms.

1. Zero Stone

With his companion Eet, an inscrutable feline mutant with phenomenal ESP powers, he is hunted through space, coming finally to a long forgotten planet inhabited by apelike "sniffers." There, facing the predatory sniffers, the antagonistic Patrol and the laser-guns of the Thieves’ Guild, Murdoc must seek the source of the Zero Stone and bargain for his right to pursue his destiny as a free man.
2. Uncharted Stars
The book continues the search begun in The Zero Stone for the source of a mysterious gem from outer space. The hero, Murdoc Jern, accompanied by a mutated pussycat named Eet, starts trying to raise money for his quest by gem-trading…then, a hijacked archeological wxpedition points the way to Waystar, the dreaded stronghold of the Thieves Guild…
Then he’s off to the planet of the zero stones, accompanied by his trust pussycat, a rengade Earthman, and a telepathic lizard.
