Overview: A woman named Beverly called Mike McShane with a story he hadn’t heard before and they agreed to meet at a local donut shop which served as his office for most of his cases. She told him that her boyfriend was missing ans he was a witness to a murder – of a made member of the Boston Mafia.
It took some cajoling but she finally revealed that her boyfriend had stolen a suitcase full of money from the dead man. Mob money.
And Bev had it now.
Mike realizes that Bev is in some very hot water as long as she has the money.
Then everything takes a serious turn for the worst.
