Molly Forrester Mystery series by Sheryl J. Anderson (#1,3-4)
Requirements: epub reader, 3 MB
Overview: Sheryl J. Anderson has always loved mysteries—the puzzle, the suspense, the vindication. But she’s been working in television, where the emphasis has shifted to the forensics and the procedures of investigation. That’s why she wanted to make her first book, Killer Heels, an "anti-procedural," a throwback to the days of Nick and Nora Charles, when the proper cocktail was a crucial part of the investigation, and sly banter and snappy patter were key to getting a confession. In addition to her writing, she teaches for Act One, an instructional program for Christian screenwriters, and for UCLA’s Writer’s Extension Program. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.

1. Killer Heels (2004)
All Molly Forrester wants is to find that one big story that can redirect her journalism career away from the sex/relationship advice column she writes for Zeitgeist magazine and back to the serious news business. But she didn’t expect to trip over it, especially when "it" turned out to be the bloody body of one of her co-workers, and she certainly didn’t expect to ruin her brand new Jimmy Choos over it.

Never mind, though—she knows that solving the murder of one of the magazine world’s most notorious ladies’ men will solve all her problems, including assauging her guilt for blowing a month’s salary on a pair of shoes ruined in one night. All Molly needs is a little help from her girlfriends and perhaps a few detecting lessons from that cute homicide detective—or is he cozying up because he thinks she’s a killer?

3. Killer Deal (2007)
Molly Forrester’s best friends know exactly what the Zeitgeist magazine advice columnist needs to prove herself as a true journalist. And when Manhattan advertising maverick Garth Henderson is murdered, she just might finally get that chance with this juicy assignment: an exclusive interview with Gwen Lincoln, the victim’s ex-wife and the prime suspect.

4. Killer Riff (2007)
Glossy mag advice columnist Molly Forrester has been working her tail off to get recognized as an investigative journalist and has even solved a few murders along the way, but none of that matters to her editor who’s more than happy to keep Molly tied down to her Dear Abby roots.

Thankfully, though, her publisher has taken notice and has a lot more faith: Molly’s been promoted, and her first assignment as a full-time feature writer should be a cinch. It’s a profile of Russell Elliott, the legendary rock manager/producer who just died of an accidental overdose. The rock ’n roll world is pretty accustomed to seeing its brightest stars burn out early, and jaded as it sounds, no one is shocked by Elliot’s death—no one except his daughter, that is, who is convinced that it was no accident.

All Molly has to do to keep her new job, pump up newsstand sales, and win back reluctant beau NYPD homicide detective Kyle Edwards is give Elliot a once-over like a devoted fan, without looking too deeply at anything that smacks of murder, like his infamous family, his infighting protégés, or the rumor about his long-lost bootleg tapes. What could be easier for Zeitgeist magazine’s newest star? Almost anything.
