Requirements: .ePUB reader, 272 KB
Overview: The woods around Netherfield are busy on the morning after the ball.
From the shadow of the trees, Darcy comes across Mr Collins proposing marriage to Elizabeth.
Immediately afterwards Darcy is accosted by a sword brandishing Wickham also in pursuit of Elizabeth. Darcy is furious, he may not wish her to be his wife, but he cannot abide to think of Elizabeth waiting for his enemy.
When Darcy finds Elizabeth, he presumes she is waiting for Wickham, an argument and an insult follows.
Despite all his intentions to leave Netherfield and return to London, Darcy is overtaken by an event which draws him into the affairs of the Bennet family.
Elizabeth’s dislike of the gentleman turns to amusement when during her visit to Rosings she becomes the ‘most cherished friend’ of Miss Anne de Bourgh. What will Darcy think when he arrives to find Elizabeth and Anne are the best of friends? At Rosings, Darcy begins to enjoy Elizabeth’s teasing nature.
Colonel Fitzwilliam declares, ‘Good God, Darcy, you and Miss Bennet have given me more entertainment than I have had these five years past.”
This is a gentle, lightly amusing tale of the developing love between Darcy and Elizabeth, with all its ups and downs.
