Overview: Steve McMillen was born and raised in Lancaster, Ohio. He currently lives near the ocean, in paradise, in Little River, South Carolina with his lovely bride Beverly. He is a US Army Veteran and spent over twenty years in the Oil & Gas Industry. His background is sales & marketing. He is a licensed real estate agent, which is why he has time to write and he enjoys playing golf in his spare time. "Murder on the Front Nine" is the first in a series of Mickke D, Grand Strand novels. He is currently working on the second book in the series, "Cougars at the Beach," another mystery/thriller, which will have several of the same characters from "Murder on the Front Nine" making an appearance.

1. Murder on the Front Nine
The tale begins on Bald Head Island, North Carolina, a remote, upscale Golf Resort Island along the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. Mickke D allows himself to be drawn into an assassination investigation by three of his old army buddies, who he has not seen in fifteen years. Mickke D soon discovers that maybe one of his old army buddies may not be as much of a friend as he once thought. The story meanders down the coast to Little River, SC; Myrtle Beach, SC and makes a stop during the playing of the World Amateur Golf Tournament in Myrtle Beach. It makes side trips to Charleston, SC, Panama City Beach, Fl, Las Vegas and Washington, DC. There are plots within plots and the reader will have to figure out the bad guys from the good guys; who they like and who they dislike. And will Mickke D be able to face his past demons head-on and make a transition from a rather mundane way of life "at the beach", back to investigator and highly trained soldier without meeting his demise along the way.
2. Cougars at the Beach
Mickke D, an ex-Green Beret, real estate broker and part-time private investigator, accepts the task of trying to locate a missing person for a real estate friend of his. How much of a problem can a missing persons case be for a private investigator? He soon discovers he is hunting for a serial killer and that the serial killer, as well as some old friends from Colombia, are hunting him as well.
3. Death on Mt. Pleasant
Mickke D back in his home town, where he is trying to help an old high school friend determine whether or not his friends sister’s tragic death was an accident or a horrific homicide. As usual, he ends up hip-deep in bad guys and twisted plots along the way. Eventually returning to Myrtle Beach, he finds things are heating up there as well, and it’s not the outside temperature. Has his old salvage friend TC finally discovered the location of the buried pirate treasure? Who else may be looking for the treasure? Has his old flame Beverly resurfaced and if so, how will he react? And last but not least, when he and TC end up in the Caribbean, is someone from his past out to end his life?
4. Terror Grips the Beach
The adventure begins back in Mickke D’s hometown of Lancaster, Ohio. Strange things are happening on Mt. Pleasant. Is the mountain trying to hide evidence? The tale quickly returns to the beach, where Mickke D ends up in a tangled web of terrorists and drug dealers. He makes a quick trip back to Bogota to settle a score with an old nemesis, and he helps TC finally answer the question as to where the buried pirate treasure is located. He then makes one last trip back to Lancaster to try to figure out what happened to his old high school friend Jake, who disappeared on Mt. Pleasant.
