1. After All These Years – Lucien
I haven’t been home in fifteen years. I’m not sure I’ll stay, just need to take care of some business before I move on again. But then Charlotte Wright returns to Fortitude and well, she’s forever been on my list of unfinished business. I’m not sure if Charlotte, presently the darling of Hollywood, is just slumming or if there’s any chance we can pick up where we left off when we were just kids.
Charlotte
I have a love/hate relationship with both Hollywood and Lucien Cole. I come back to Fortitude, in the middle of nowhere, whenever I need to get away. It’s always been my secret hiding place. But now Lucien is back, and suddenly my little island doesn’t seem to offer the same escape. There’s no rest, no relaxation, and apparently, no getting away from either the paparazzi or Lucien.

2. After Our First Date – Maggie
Honestly, I don’t have time for dating—certainly not blind dates! I’m single-handedly running the only real estate agency on the island and trying not to lose my mind. I’ve only agreed to the stupid date to appease my neighbor, Pearl, who seems to think it’s her life’s work to find me a mate. But then, Sam Middleton. *Sigh* I’m in love. Too bad the date is a fiasco and I’m sure I’ll never hear from him again.
Sam
I’m not back on the island a week before I’m wrangled into a blind date. I’m looking to put Fortitude behind me, not put down roots. But then I see her, Maggie Sutton, and I change my tune. Yeah, I’ll take that date, and whatever else she wants to give. I can’t decide if the night is a horror or a comedy of errors, and I’m not sure she hasn’t purposefully sabotaged the date. But I’m willing to hang around a bit longer and find out what the truth is.

3. After the Storm – Harper
I should be getting ready to be married, far away from the memories of Fortitude, Florida. But no, I’m back, forced to settle my father’s estate. Estate? Hah. The place might have gorgeous views and be worth quite a penny, but I want nothing to do it—and even less to do with the mouth-watering Ian Sargent. He’s building a life on Fortitude while I’m trying desperately to get away from it.
Ian
As soon as I see her, I know she has to be mine. I only stumbled across her, trying to board up the old Lorde place before the storm. After an invigorating first encounter, I can’t get her out of my mind. She’s got some pretty bad memories of the island and I’ve got only week to convince her to stay, to prove to her that she’ll always be safe with me.

4. After That Kiss – Lucy
I’m the only journalist on Fortitude, running the only newspaper on the island. I’m thrilled when the island’s notorious gangster finally agrees to an interview but excitement quickly turns to horror when I show up at his house and discover that he’s been murdered. As if that’s not bad enough, I think the murderer knows I’m a witness. This sends me running, straight into the arms of Jake Forrester.
Jake
When Lucy Abbott walks into my arms outside the Salty Crab, I’m blindsided. She’s just witnessed a murder and believes her life is in danger, and she’s willing to pay someone to keep her safe. One look at her, beyond the bravery she tries to project, and I know she’s meant to be mine. I’ll move heaven and earth to keep her safe.

5. After the Fall – Julia
I’ve just escaped my hum-drum life and a nasty divorce, bought a sweet little place on Fortitude Island sight unseen. When I arrive, I immediately realize that it is a sight, and I should have left it unseen. The old cottage is nearly inhabitable. There are only two contractors on the island and only one of them is younger than eighty. So that’s how I wind up with Dawson Reed fixing up my place. He’s entirely too sexy for me right now, but oh, how I want him to use his tool on me.
Dawson
She’s a mess—both the ramshackle cottage and her new owner. Yeah, Julia Winston’s got bad romance written all over her, fresh off a divorce. She pretends she wants nothing to do with me while I work on her new house. But I catch her watching me, so I know she’s hoping I do something about the desire she’s trying to avoid.

6. After the Heartbreak – Ethan
I’m back in Fortitude for good. I’ve left New York City for the slower pace of life on the island. I’m eager to set up my new practice and reconnect with my brothers here. I know as soon as I see Claire that I need to make her mine. But after only a taste, she pushes me away. I plan on giving her as long as she needs to accept the truth, that we belong together. When you meet the one, there’s no time limit as to how long you’ll wait.
Claire
I have no business getting involved with the likes of Ethan Gerard. None whatsoever. There’s no future for us. I can resist his cheesy come-on lines, but I can’t resist him. One night of passion leads to a day-after of regret. I’m stuck in the past, unable to move forward. And no matter how delicious his bedside manner is, I don’t think he can help me.

7. After Tomorrow – Liam
At the last minute, I’m left in the lurch without a dog sitter for Merle. But the owner of Merle’s sister comes to the rescue. One look at Alice and I’m blown away. She can’t hide her answering attraction, but she makes it perfectly clear that she’s not interested in anything I’m offering. Luckily, I’m a patient man.
Alice
I’m hooked as soon as I lay my eyes on Liam. And as a romance writer, I’ve conjured up a lot of hot heroes but none like Liam, none that quicken my pulse the way he does. Sadly, his dog has better manners than he does, so I’ll have to take a pass.

8. After That Whiskey – Mia
I’ve got a few days to myself on the island of Fortitude before my summer associate job starts. I didn’t intend to be swept off my feet by the smooth-talking, sexy older man living right next door to the house I’m renting. But the whiskey was good, and his kiss was unbelievable.
Jared
At first, it seems perfect: she’s only on the island for three months. I can explore my instant attraction to her and not worry about being tied down or hounded—I have neither the time nor the interest in a relationship. But Mia Collins is not the type you get enough of after only one night. And then Monday comes and with it, the new interns, one of whom is Mia, and now I have to figure out how to keep my hands off her for the next three months.

9. After Midnight – Gwen
At one time, Bobby Ryan and I were just foster kids living in the same house. Then I was just someone he looked up when he was visiting NYC. Now we’re both back in Fortitude and I don’t think I’m going to be able to keep my longtime crush on him a secret for much longer. The way he’s looking at me is not very brotherly.
Bobby
My foster mother used to say only people up to no good were out after midnight. I’m not up to no good with Gwen—I think this is a long time coming. We’re adults now and she’s more tempting than ever. I just need to convince her that she’s not just another conquest, that I’ve actually been waiting for her.
