Overview: Haunting memories of Jim Richmond’s Vietnam deployment lay dormant in the recesses of his mind, waiting for the right time to return to torture him.
Those memories return with a vengeance when a strange man pulls a knife on Jim, fracturing Jim’s already tenuous grasp on reality. Jim’s life begins to unravel when he recognizes the man as the farmer Jim murdered while stationed in Vietnam.
A day later, Jim’s best friend is dead…and Jim’s wife Claire finds Jim unconscious and gripping the murder weapon. Jim believes he was framed by the farmer, but Claire and Jim’s psychiatrist blame PTSD-induced rage and force Jim into a psychiatric hospital. While fighting for his release, Jim convinces himself that the farmer is preparing to murder Claire next.
Before the institution has time to improve Jim’s mental state, a troubled man posing as a mental health worker and promising to help protect Claire sneaks Jim out…then turns a gun on Jim as soon as they pull out of the parking lot.
Certain that Claire’s life is at risk, Jim attempts to escape and track down the mysterious farmer before the farmer gets to Claire. Unless, of course, the threat the farmer imposes — and possibly the man himself — is only a figment of Jim’s war-tainted imagination.
