Medicine Stick series by Barbara Bartholomew (#1-#2)
Requirements: Epub reader/Azw3 reader, 1.32 Mb
Overview: Barbara Bartholomew became intrigued with the notion of time travel when she was a little girl and listened to her grandfather talk about the possibility that time was itself a separate dimension and discuss Einstein’s theories on the subject. Her first published short story was “Wheel of Fire” in Analog magazine, which saw a traveler venturing into Elizabethan times, and in the 1980s she wrote the time travel trilogy for young adults, The Time Keeper, Child of Tomorrow and When Dreamers Cease to Dream after an editor asked her what she would write if her choices were wide open. Now as an independent writer, she has made the same choice and likes to explore lasting relationships against a backdrop of a constantly changing fantasy world.
Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Time Travel
1. Wrong Face in the Mirror
Lovely young Hart Benson does not remember her own life, but strangely enough she does recall that of another woman, Stacia Larkin, who vanished over sixty years ago when the little town of Medicine Stick was flooded to form a new lake. Hart finds herself with an intriguing husband, a family and a fortune she does not believe to be her own. It also begins to seem that somewhere out there is someone who wants to see her (or the real Hart) dead.
2. Wakening the Past
Ready for the happy-ever-after with her new husband , Hart feels it is slipping away as Alistair continues to worry about her sanity. She knows her story of having been born in the 1940s and moving through time in another woman’s body is hard for him to accept and when young Bobbi Lawrence returns to their lives, troubled with dreams of those same events, his fears increase. When his wife’s friend, an elderly man who has lived his life in prison, escapes and Hart insists that he would never have run away on his own, tension mounts between the two of them, threatening their hard-earned happiness.
