Me, Alice: The Autobiography of Alice Cooper by Steven Gaines
Requirements: EPUB, MOBI Reader | 422 KB
Overview: The book was written when Cooper was in his late 20’s. There’s a lot of declarations he makes in the book that probably were absolutely true when he was that age, but obviously are not now. Like telling us that in his lifestyle, he finds three things useless. Marriage, funerals, and underwear. Well, he’s married with kids now. He’s been to at least one funeral, and…well, we’ll just let the underwear remain one of life’s mysteries. It’s rather interesting to see how we change in our values and opinions as we get older, and how no one is immune to change. We have a tendency to think that celebrities somehow get frozen in time and will be the same person at 40 as they were at 20.
The book is not for the faint of heart, but then again, Alice Cooper fans are known for not being faint hearted anyway. The general tone of the book makes me feel like I happened to get stuck in a broken elevator with the man, and just to pass the time, we’re telling each other our life stories. It’s got that casual semi-friendly feeling to it. A few times though, had I been on the elevator, hearing the life story, I would have probably cracked up and said, "Wow, TMI!" You will not look at jelly donuts again without either cringing or laughing.
