Overview: It is the year 2455 and the world is ruled by an elite race called Pegasians. The pegasians live in rich, futuristic cities built above the land, and they rule by unwavering fear and control.
In the human village below the Pegasian Empire, 22 year old Marianna Strauss, an orphan raised in poverty by her late grandfather Peter, starts to hear voices. Convinced that it is the voice of her dead grandfather, and afraid that she is going mad, she tells no one except her best friend, a mermaid called Jessica. The voices continue and they warn of the imminent danger of a new beast called the Fourth Chimeric.
Meanwhile, Aleksandr Zidan, heir to the Pegasian Empire, knows he must find a solution to the evil of the Fourth Chimeric before they grow in number and become stronger, and Marianna Strauss is the answer.
Aleksandr captures Marianna and brings her to his city as a prisoner, but, deeply mistrustful of him, his strength, power and control, she finds a way to escape.
Soon Aleksandr realises that Marianna is in grave danger. She is being hunted by the Fourth Chimeric for the secret she holds, and if they find her they will kill her. He must find her first, and when he does he must keep her.
In this new world it is forbidden for a pegasian and a human to be together. If Marianna is to survive Aleksandr must make her trust him, but he cannot love her, for it will destroy them both.
