Genre: Romance
1. Hemlock – The only thing Lock loved more than blood was power, which was why he’d been planning a flawless coup d’état for over a decade. Nothing would get in his way. When vampires suddenly started going feral in the streets, however, it was bound to complicate things. Lock was nothing if not imaginative, though. He wasn’t afraid to paint the city in red, as long as he got what he wanted in the end.
When he met Sam, he found that what he wanted was more volatile than he’d expected. Killing her was the smartest move if he wanted everything to go according to plan. He refused to throw away a decade of scheming for some redhead with a bad attitude. The San Francisco coven would be his, even if he had to kill everybody that stood in his way.
2. Belladonna – After everything that happened over the summer, Hemlock and Samara spent some much needed time together as they navigated the new aspects of their relationship. Now that she has been filled in on the truth, he hopes she’ll make the decision to change sooner rather than later, but every day he grows more concerned about her decision. While she’s battling with the implications of ending her mortal life, a threat looms in the distance, seeking to draw Lock out of his comfortable tower.
When the mysterious drug that turns vampires feral pops up in Seattle, he must once again try to unlock its secrets and uncover the mastermind behind it. If he can’t unravel it all, both his coven and his mate could become casualties in the game that’s been set in motion. This whole thing seems to revolve around him, but then, perhaps it goes even deeper than that.
A mysterious villain hiding in the shadows might offer the greatest challenge he’s faced yet. As the most powerful vampire in existence, though, he shouldn’t have anything to fear. If only his mate would finally give up her mortality and fight alongside him. That would make things a hell of a lot simpler.
