Overview: I am so lucky to live on the beautiful Carolina Coast, a setting that inspires my Magnolia Mystery series. So far, there are nine cozy-type contemporary mysteries, most set at Wilmington’s fun festivals, such as The Azalea Festival and The Candlelight Tour, or my latest, The Holiday Flotilla. They are lighthearted, fun reads featuring historic preservationist Ashley Wilkes and her irrepressible sister Melanie, Wilmington’s star realtor. My work-in-progress is Much Ado About Murder which I am writing for North Carolina’s oldest and official community theatre, The Thalian Association’s 225th anniversary.
I also have two stand-alone suspense thrillers, Dead Ringer and Lady Justice, both available for Kindle. Lady Justice will be printed by Harlequin in October.
I am a history buff and read about local history as background for my books. I also enjoy genealogy research and I’m a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. By faith, I am an Episcopalian. "Giving back" is most rewarding; I use book sales to raise funds for worthy causes.
I need to point out to my readers that I sell only eBooks on Amazon. Those paper books that booksellers advertise as new, priced at ridiculously high prices have nothing to do with me.

Brothers-in-law, Ray and Cameron, announce a contest for best musical. The winner will receive a large cash prize and the winning musical will be produced as a stage play by the Thalian Association and then made into a movie. With Wilmington known as Wilmywood, the Hollywood of the East, there is certain to be enough raw talent to produce the play and movie right here – downhome. But is the cash prize so tempting someone will kill for it? Meanwhile, when the historic Montjoy house comes on the market, Ashley and Jon snap it up. They will restore the former boarding house for cash-strapped actors to its Late Georgian grandeur and make it their home. But when Ashley and Jon try to evict the tenants, they find themselves embroiled in feuds involving blind ambition and desperate greed.
