Overview: Jordy is used to real estate gambles, but is love a risk she’s willing to take?
Real estate investor Jordy Hawkins has moved to her family lake house in Pluto, Georgia for rest, reflection, and a new start. You’d need one too if you walked in on your partner of fourteen years with another woman. Except, Jordy doesn’t rest. And she’s not that great at reflection. Instead, she welcomes the distraction of getting to know her new neighbor, contractor Brooks Denver.
Jordy knows nothing could ever happen with Brooks.
For starters, she’s twelve years older, and the lonely older woman/hot young contractor cliché sounds like the plot to one of her mother’s romance novels. Plus, Jordy is athletic and outgoing; Brooks is her contemplative, thoughtful opposite who reads classic Russian literature for fun. Despite their differences, an unlikely friendship develops. But as Brooks’ easy nature encourages Jordy to open up about her past, it becomes increasingly difficult for her to keep him strictly in the friend zone.
It’s not just Jordy’s personal life that’s a hot mess.
In a real estate comeback move, Jordy sinks all of her money into transforming a historic building into an elegant event venue. Her beloved project becomes a stressful nightmare when her contractor quits weeks before the venue’s first scheduled gig, Jordy’s high school reunion. Of course, Brooks volunteers to step in and save the day, but when has mixing business with pleasure ever been a good idea?
Complicated feelings for her much younger neighbor-friend-contractor. A cheating ex who reappears at the worst possible time. An expensive event venue unfinished for its debut. Is Jordy’s future doomed? Or could her happily ever after be Made in Pluto?
