1-Fire And Ice:
Newenham, Alaska, is a long way from the big-city comforts of Anchorage, where Sergeant Liam Campbell was an up-and-coming state trooper with everything going his way. But that was before his life unraveled. Transferred in disgrace to this rough-and-tumble fishing town on the shores of Bristol Bay, Liam knows Newenham is the end of the line. It’s also his last shot at getting his life back.. He’s about to come in for a very rough landing. Stepping onto the airstrip at Newenham, Liam walks into a crime scene: a body torn apart by the propeller of a Piper Super Cub. As if that isn’t enough of a welcome, the woman bending over the corpse is Wyanet Chouinard, the only woman Liam ever truly loved – and soon to be his prime suspect. Next, a man is held hostage in the town’s only decent burger joint–held for shooting out a jukebox that was playing Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. And Liam still doesn’t have his uniform on.

2-So Sure Of Death:
Liam Campbell has lost more than most men lose in a lifetime: his wife and young son are dead – victims of a tragic accident; his budding career is in a deep freeze ever since five people died on his Anchorage watch. Demoted from sergeant to trooper, exiled to Newenham, a town teeming with fiercely independent Natives, he lives on a leaky gillnetter moored in Bristol Bay, brooding on how to put down roots on dry land again and rekindle his relationship with bush pilot Wyanet Chouinard, who won his heart long ago, and then broke it.
Then word arrives from Kulukak: The fishing boat Marybethia is adrift, victim of a shipboard fire. Flying out with Trooper Diana Prince, his new assistant and pilot, Liam arrives to find the horribly burned bodies of a family of local fishers and their crew. Was it a terrible accident? Or a cover-up of something worse?
At the same time, on a routine air-taxi run to a dig near Chinook Air Force Base, Wy discovers a young archaeological assistant, gruesomely murdered. And to make a perfect day complete, Liam’s estranged father, Air Force Colonel Charles Campbell, flies into Newenham on assignment to the Chinook base. Even for Newenham, things are getting out of hand.
From Bill’s Bar and Grill, where the local magistrate metes out her own brand of justice – Bristol Bay-style – to a remote northern shore where herds of walrus emerge from a sullen sea, Liam follows a trail of false leads, false confessions, and false hopes.

4-Better To Rest:
Just when his personal life starts to heat up, Liam Campbell must put it on hold…after the grisly discovery of a dismembered hand leads him to a crashed World War II Army plane frozen precariously in a glacier. Stretching back more than sixty years, the case will pit Liam against his Air Force colonel father, whose very presence makes Liam question what secrets the glacier holds-and who exactly was on that ill-fated flight…
