Overview: Chap Harper is the author of five published books. His most recent, Shortcut, is a thriller which begins with investigations by Interpol agents into strange satellite phone chatter in Lyon, France. At the same time, a former law enforcement officer, Lester McFarlin, questions strange occurrences on a cruise ship where he is enjoying his honeymoon. As the inquiries continue, a far-reaching and complex plot is uncovered concerning Islamic terrorists who plan to blow up the Panama Canal and all the ships in the locks.
Harper’s first book Once Upon a Reef was published by Green King Publishing in 2012. He followed up that novel with Once Upon the Congo in 2015, Beer, Bait, and Ammo in 2016, Under Cuba in 2017, and Shortcut in 2018, all through Smoking Gun Publishing. Chap attended the University of Arkansas and retired as an officer with the CNA Insurance Companies. He and his wife Susan live on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
