1. Directed Energy
When Grum Hewson is offered a job running the world’s first antimatter production facility, he leaves the safety of academic research for the harsh world of industry. His main task is to increase the yield, making power generation possible.
Only two problems. One: it’s not possible. Two: his boss doesn’t believe him.
He will have to learn this new game fast, or he could find himself out on his ear.
2. Power Base
Fixing the mess which the old boss left behind is just the start of Grum Hewson’s troubles.
Upgrading the Nevada Antimatter Production Facility is causing ructions, someone on the Board of Directors is out to get him, and there is a nasty rumour going round that antimatter power generation is cheap.
Oh, and his wife doesn’t want to work with him any more. Apart from that, everything is peachy!
3. Critical Error
Grum Hewson has been annoying a lot of people in the last few years, and a lot of it is coming home to roost.
Turning on four new colliders is more than Nevada’s electricity grid can handle near the Antimatter Power Facility. Building new capacity takes power of another sort… And money. Always more money.
Sorting out nuclear power stations for the moon base, finding out just who is pulling the board’s strings, and working out if this is the right time for another child, are all serious problems for Grum…
…So he thinks, at least, until his world explodes.
