Overview: One of my favourite things to do is hang out on Twitter where my feed is always full of books, wildlife and chocolate. One evening I saw a submissions call from Carina UK: send one chapter and a synopsis of a story starting with a proposal. “The rest is up to you.” I read my first Agatha Christie at thirteen and have been hooked on mysteries ever since. So I decided to submit the opening chapter of A PROPOSAL TO DIE FOR, the first book in my Lady Alkmene Callender Mystery series, about a feisty lady and an enigmatic reporter investigating suspicious deaths in 1920s’ London and the English countryside.
