Overview: Kit is Tentari and the Tentari are the only species in explored space without gender. This is a complication when Kit is stranded on Brueloran Station after the ship DawnRider is attacked and destroyed.
All Kit knows is that those who killed the ship are powerful enough to lay down lies no one questions and they continue to pursue Tentari with impunity. The Tentari made a discovery that will alter the power structure of the Confederation. The race is on to see who can steal it first and take control of explored space.
Leading the hunt is A’Riipalae, an Uoonbiam of unparalleled greed. She recognizes no boundaries. She defies all limitations. When challenged, she does not hesitate to use any means possible to get whatever she wants. Her partner has even fewer scruples.
It is up to Kit to make sure the hunters don’t win. Too bad Kit has no idea how to do that or how to determine friend from hunter, or which direction leads to safety or straight into the tentacles of an enemy.
Too many questions and not enough answers leave Kit with no time to sort it all out as the hunters close in.
Kit has no time for love either, but finds it anyway and it tears Kit’s loyalties into too many pieces to count.
