Overview: D. N. Meinster is a Rutgers University graduate and former New Jersey political operative. After retiring from politics, hopefully before it corrupted his soul, he began working as an IT professional, a field that did not make him hate his life. While lamenting that he chose a political science degree over computer science, he filled the vast void of despair by writing several novels that will never be released to the general public.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
1. The First Kingdom
Three hundred years of peace was unprecedented for the Kingdom of Kytheras, yet each citizen went about like it would never end. The young blacksmith, Aros Asilias, planned a life with his girlfriend. The young prince, Doren Tunsev, plotted abdication. And the young mage, Rikki Nasem, dreamed of her freedom. All the while, the immortal King Neanthal remained locked in his prison. No one believed his followers would return, or that they would be capable of releasing him. But when they reappear and swear to do just that, it falls to Aros, Doren, and Rikki to stop them.
2. The Second Dynasty
Faunli is being torn apart by war. The heir to the Korona Empire finds his legitimacy challenged by his brother, who has gathered forty prominent families to back his claim to rule. While their sister attempts to mediate a peace, the unexpected return of an ancient killer sows chaos in an already unstable land.
In the midst of it all, Aros, Doren, and Rikki arrive in search of the second Key. Still reeling from their final days in Kytheras, the three of them hope to stay out of Faun affairs but are soon consumed by them. As the war drives them across the realm and tests the strength of their friendship, they contend with an awful discovery: there are more people after the Keys than they thought.
3. The Third Immortal
Belliore has remained a haven for the scientists of Ghumai. In their centuries of isolation, they have created a kingdom unlike any other. But one of them has also created something else: a virus that can spread magical abilities.
Immediately disoriented upon their arrival, Aros, Doren, and Rikki grapple with unfamiliar technologies as they seek to acquire the third Key. When the Bellish refuse to turn it over, the trio plots to steal it from them while they’re distracted by the growing outbreak. Yet the closer they get to obtaining the Key, the clearer it becomes that they’ve underestimated both the number of obstacles in their path and their own vulnerability to the worsening plague.
4. The Fourth Revolt
The diffuse Kingdom of Terrastream has been reunited under the tyrannical rule of King Kahar. To maintain his hold on power, Kahar subjugates mages and pursues any that would dare overthrow him.
Unaware of the perilous political climate of this new land, Aros, Doren, and Rikki happen upon a group of revolutionaries and are brought up to speed. In exchange for help in their search for the fourth Key, the trio agrees to join them in a coup attempt. But their meddling only serves to make them a target, as Kahar sends his best hunters to eliminate the conspirators and their new allies.
